Honest to god if I accidentally open that SHEIN advert once more

You only have to BREATHE in the same direction as the SHEIN avert as you’re reading a thread and it bloody hysterically inserts itself and you into a new tab. I hate it! Other adverts don’t react like this so why do they have to?

Omg - I thought it was just me thinking some ads are more sensitive than others! I’m overseas so probably get different ads: for me it’s a bloody spa break in Guatemala! Aaaaarrrrrggghhhh. It’s so annoying cancelling the tan in safari then navigating back into my folders for the MN app. Many times I’ve not bothered…

Every time I go on Mumsnet! It's massively annoying! It's so bad it's putting me off.

Me too but hate the Mumsnet smartphone swivelling ads almost as much.

Yes this ^^ I had pretty much stopped using MN until I found the Duck Duck Go browser app.

This happens to me too and it’s really offputting. I assumed it’s at least semi deliberate as presumably MN need to demonstrate volume of click through to drive the ad income ?
I hate the ads in the middle of pages even when I don’t accidentally click on them!

Will you stop asking for screenshots??? It’s just another deflecting tactic. Stop accepting all the shitty ad revenue that’s making this site glitchy and virtually useless. Stop asking US to solve your tech issues. You trot out the same response every time someone reports a problem, it’s pathetic.

I'm having trouble with the CoOp funeral care one.
It keeps sliding in on the stupid ad that slides on to the screen bottom right. It has no X so I can't stop it and make it go away and I can only pause it for about 30 seconds and then it carries on. I now have CoOp funeral care banner ads down both sides of the side from top to bottom and the slider ad is still there.
I am terminally ill and one of my DC's has burst into tears because they think I'm planning my funeral ffs!!!! I would like to point out that the banner ads have no triangle symbol to give feedback to say I find the ads inappropriate and if I click on the one on the bottom slider ad then it just opens up the ad. This is just so, so upsetting.
And before you ask @JoMumsnet @LilyMumsnet or whoever - no, I can not do a screen shot and do your job for you - I'm on desktop Chrome. This is just ridiculous.

I just want to tell it that the ads are inappropriate - why is that so hard?

We're really sorry that the Co-Op advert has caused you all this distress. We can see that there's an issue with this ad - the video slider ad is not an intentional part of the set-up and so we're turning this ad off until we find a long-term solution.

In terms of the ad content, we can absolutely see why this particular advert has been so upsetting for you. We try to be mindful of sensitive topics and we don't allow ads on certain areas of the site where sensitive discussions take place, but we're unable to customise ads for individual users.

Hi ColaWars - sorry for sounding like a broken record, but we're asking for screenshots because we've blocked many of these ads but some are clearly still getting through, so if we can see the specific ads that are still cropping up, we can hopefully get them blocked.

Definitely a pop up. I’ve definitely not clicked on an ad. Not sure why MNHQ are asking for screenshots like it’s a mystery that needs investigating. You know what it is, make it stop!
