I'm on Chrome mobile, Samsung S22 Ultra. MN seems to load fully, but then I can't tap threads to read them, and once in them, have to reload several times to be able to type. Scrolling down the thread list is fine. I've had to close and reopen Chrome several times to post this.

I know it's not Chrome itself because the home and menu buttons work, I can Google things and type straight away, and I can tap any of the results and it loads instantly. When I return to MN the issue is as before. So it's a site issue, not a browser issue.

Having same issue on my phone too.

Buxusmortus · 28/10/2025 00:20

Happening to me too. Have to keep going on and off the site several times before it responds to a tap or allows me to type.

PractisingMyTelekenipsis · 28/10/2025 00:25

Same. Also S22 ultra

FenceBooksCycle · 28/10/2025 00:29

I'm having the same issue and I think it's a rogue advert that is either too much data or some kind of animation or functionality that's incompatible and freezes the browser. I'm getting the effect loads and it's making the site unusable but I don't remember seeing the freezing on a page with fully loaded adverts.

Same.

BistoBear · 28/10/2025 00:40

I’m having the same issue, I’m on safari, iPhone 15 iOS 18.6.2

I also think it’s an advert that causing the issue. If I press and hold on a link I don’t get the option to open or open in new tab, it highlights the centre of the screen. I’ll attach a screenshot.

I eventually managed to write this after the video advert at the top of the page uploaded, I think this is the problem. Very frustrating, it’s making this site unusable at the moment.

Same blue rectangle and freezing

DoolallyDrifter · 28/10/2025 05:24

Same for me. Chrome with an android.

Highlighta · 28/10/2025 05:28

I thought it was just me.

This was last night so it's been happening for a little while.

I ended up just closing the site... The result is that I have a freshly baked cake to eat today ☺️

But this site is getting quite tiresome to use.

Dontsparethehorses · 28/10/2025 05:30

I’m the same safari on iPhone 16- I’ve downloaded the app because it’s been happening for a couple of days

Ponchodreams · 28/10/2025 05:31

Same

Blodyneighbour · 28/10/2025 05:33

Same for me

whimsicallyprickly · 28/10/2025 05:38

Genuine question - why would you access MN on your phone but not on the app?

spoonbillstretford · 28/10/2025 05:42

It's the fucking ads not loading. I have to keep forcing a refresh of the page. Once an ad deigns to load it works.

Pleasegetmeacoffeesotired · 28/10/2025 05:43

Me too.

HDready · 28/10/2025 05:44

Because the app is awful and the mobile site is better.

Wheech · 28/10/2025 05:57

Same here. P30 Pro, Samsung browser. I don't want to install an app for every website I use so just stick with the browser.

In my case, it is for the data mining. you might not be aware every app you install, can gather and sell information about you. Where you live based on whre your phone is at night, at what time you wake up, where you go during the day, what websites you browse and what time of the day, what your shopping habits are, which is your favourite supermarket, and your guilty habits.

Free apps get money from selling your data. Apps were not created at high cost because they like you and it is cool to have an app.

I use DuckDuckGo for MN, I have a trouble free, ad-free, speedy experience. And my data remains mine.

OK. I don't find the app awful. But if you do, then I can understand why you'd avoid it. What do you find awful about it?

RampantIvy · 28/10/2025 06:11

Same here S24.

Thank you 🥰 My understanding is that websites do that anyway. All my info on this app is generic (ie not linked to me) apart from my IP address which would be mined if I accessed MN through the website or app.
