Why aren't threads opening on most recent post

I haven't changed my settings but now when I open a thread I'm on it takes me to an older post than I've read. It used to take me to the most recent. What's happening?

It seems tech have been spending their time on fiddling about with the colours instead of trying to solve a functionality issue. How bizarre this all is, I am genuinely non-plussed .

Doesn’t even open on the right page when you’ve added a message. I can post, reopen the thread a minute later and it will take me to a random page in the middle of the thread even when my message is the last message

I've just been through a number of threads "I'm On" and deliberately added bookmarks at the post I'd like to return to. Then left the threads. Then opened them up again. None of the bookmarks worked. I am generally returned to the end of the first page of the thread, I have my settings at 100 posts per thread.

That hasn't happened for me for so long I forgot it used to!!

So I have a question. If you quite a poster. Where do YOU end up after?

I wish you went back to ggd past you quotes, but I dint. I just end up as the last post in the thread & have to use the date/time on the pist I quoted to find mh place in the thread.

I'm having to bookmark everything too. Mine generally works fine but I'm only viewing 25 posts per page.

MN nowadays is such a PITA to navigate

Sorry, yes, I meant 100 posts per page not thread. I honestly don't think I could stand to adjust to 25 posts per page! The threads I get invested in and want to return to are often very long. And often I want to find an old post of mine too, and Advanced Search is useless for that now.

I just don't understand why MN are working on updates, when functions which helped with navigation on such a vast site are just no longer working! 😡

So I’ve just tried bookmarking for the first time and bookmarked the last message. Went out the thread and then returned to it and it took me to the first page rather than the comment I bookmarked. Am I using it right and it’s just not working? Or am I meant to click on something to do with bookmarks?

I just click on bookmark an it takes me back to that post so it sounds like something isn't working on your page.

@MoominUnderWater - no you aren't doing anything wrong. Bookmarks are not working for me (see my post at just after 8 this morning) and many others on the thread.

I can't handle the new colours so I think I'll have to post a lot less anyhow.

I don't see what's complicated about it. There are so many issues but instead of sorting these, we've got hideous new colours foisted upon us.
But apparently those were chosen in the survey that nobody knew about 🙄

It's so annoying. The OP is now in the blue which MNHQ used to be in. I quite liked choosing my own colours TBH. It all looks very bright now. 😩

Still not fixed.

I've only noticed this problem the past week, probably since they implemented the awful post colours. Beyond annoying :/

Not noticed it before yesterday.

Did you ever get your bookmark issue sorted? Mine seem to have stopped working since the update - takes me to the last post on the page the bookmark is on, rather than the bookmarked post.
