Anyone else getting a recurrence of the constant freezing, crashing, pages not loading that was happening a while back?

Forgot to say, Safari too and my phone also gets extremely hot at times while trying to load MN. What’s that about?

Mine was doing this for weeks (safari on iPhone) and it was horrendous. I cleared my history and website data and it’s helped massively.

Clearing history always works for me on the iPad as a short term fix but I find it's a PITA because it clears data I don't want to dump and more importantly it doesn't seem to fix the problem for a significant length of time..

With my set up I find if I clear history on day 1 by day 2 I can start to see the iPad struggling on MN again..

Mumsnet is the only forum I've been on where this happens.

Happening all the time for me on iPhone- both app and desktop. Very annoying.

Yep, on an iPhone. I seem to have commented on this problem on about six different threads in the last couple of weeks. Maybe Mumsnet could pull them all together to see how many people are pissed if by this happening yet again

it’s frustrating, I tried to comment on a long thread this morning it froze mid comment. I gave up. Short threads seem ok.

What does "clearing your history" mean

You need a proper techie for a proper answer, but in the meantime..

Beneath the surface your device/browser quietly store lots of info to help speed up your internet experience,.not just passwords but other stuff beside...

You can usually get into the settings for your browser (methods vary) and delete all the stuff that's hidden away.

Sometimes worth doing if you suspect something has been stored on your device that is causing you to lose performance.

I am having the same problems on Samsung phone and drains the battery too. I regularly clear my history so that isn't the issue.

Agree with everyone else. This is simply getting ridiculous now. Please MNHQ do try to fix it!

Thought this was just me! Threads not loading, freezing when they do load. Also finding my phone is getting very hot when trying to use mumsnet (not happening with anything else). Using an iPhone.

The freezing is soooo annoying. The thread loads and you think everything is going to be ok and then you try to scroll and NOPE…

Yes, it’s been going on for months. It had improved a bit, but got worse again over the past few weeks.

I use Mumsnet on my phone (Safari on iPhone) - it’s very slow to load, if it does load it then freezes after you’ve scrolled down past the first advert, and usually jumps and then reloads with the message ‘This webpage was reloaded due to an error’ or something like that.

It works on Safari on my iPad, but occasionally the webpage will reload with the same message. There’s also a weird thing where I can scroll down the first few pages normally, then there’s an advert, and the posts don’t load again after the advert, so you scroll and scroll and it’s just blank. Sometimes if you scroll back up to the top then back down the advert again, you can scroll past it normally. Other times the web page reloads itself.

It definitely seems worse when it’s a video advert compared to an image.

All very frustrating.

It has indeed, it's been reported for months.

AFAIK and in my experience this is a MN only issure...but despite the reports it seems MN HQ ther hasn't got enough resources or the willingness to find a fix...

Lots of issues here too. Currently on desktop but is happening on Samsung tablet and phone too.
Freezing, not scrolling correctly, open the active tab, click on a topic, read it, use the back button to go back to active to find a list of topics from weeks or days ago. Have to go out of site and back in again to get up to date active page back,
Bonus - spending less time on here.

This is exactly what was happening with me but somehow it has sorted itself out only to be replaced by not updating threads.

You’re right, it’s started glitching and randomly reloading again!

I can see the first post the first reply then an advert that just stops anything loading. I just looked to see what advert it was and it was the laundry offers one
