Please remove me from the infinite scroll test group.

Can I please be removed from the test group and have my account moved back to the paginated version? I really dislike the infinite scrolling, it makes it much harder to navigate the threads and means I end up leaving threads and not engaging with the site. I would have appreciated a heads up that I was being placed in a test group and how to opt out instead of being left to struggle with a frustrating and unnecessary change.

OK, here is one really annoying consequence of this infinite scrolling. I wanted to go back and look at the first couple of posts under the original as there were links I wanted to read. But all I get the option to 'load older posts'. I don't want to see all the older posts bit by bit, each time I click on the button. I just want to see the posts in the order they were posted!

I know you said the App has always been infinite scrolling, but in the new one it does something similar where by if I have bookmarked a post, and then want to see what the most recents posts on that thread were, the reverse button doesn't work. It just takes me back to my post all the time. It's SO ANNOYING!

@blankittyblank thanks for this feedback. Just in case you weren't aware, you can jump to the top of a thread by clicking the three dot menu at the top right of posts and click 'jump to top'.

We're working on these points to improve them, so this is all very useful feedback.

Re. this point of your post -

Why cant you just let people manually select how many posts they want to read per page? And also add a “jump to end” button for those who do want infinite scrolling.

There is a jump to end button - it's not very visible but we're planning to make it more visible, so thanks for flagging this to us.

NetballHoop · 23/05/2025 12:10

Please can you remove me too? It just makes it harder to use MN.

Duckyfondant · 23/05/2025 12:38

Remove me too, please. It's horrible

Can you just not make the change though? Instead of trying to make things more visible? Infinite scrolling is not accessilble either, don't know what you keep ignoring that.

One other thing I hate about the infinite scroll is that you can't enter a thread mid way. There are many reasons why I like to do this - sometimes I want to know where I am in the scheme of the thread. Other times I want to go back and look at a post on page 6. Sometimes I want to remind myself who said what after my own comment so can go back to the page.

Bookmarking is not an alternative - with infinite scroll it hides all the previous posts above your bookmark, unless you select 'show more' repeatedly. Also, I can't bookmark more than one place. Bookmarking on the app is annoying cus it stops the reverse view working.

Can you explain why this is something you seem to insist on pushing ahead with? And how you're going to address the accessibility issue?

seanbeanmarryme · 23/05/2025 15:18

Please could I also be removed from t3st group and go back to numbered pag3s. Thank you

eatfigs · 23/05/2025 19:02

Is this infinite scrolling thing really the future of MN?

kab89 · 23/05/2025 19:10

Can you please remove me too.

MountainBiker · 23/05/2025 20:34

Please remove me from the scrolling group too - I'd like pages back please

JewelleryCat · 23/05/2025 20:48

Can I also be removed please? I can’t cope with all the scrolling and much prefer pages

DoneAndNotDusted · 23/05/2025 20:54

Please can you remove me as well. I have only just had this added today, and it's taking ages to get to the end of the thread as it takes so long to load. Driving me mad already!

Newnamesameme · 23/05/2025 20:54

Me too please I hate it

ObliviousCoalmine · 23/05/2025 21:15

Me please!

PullTheBricksDown · 23/05/2025 21:41

I thought I was having some kind of medical episode because my pages had disappeared for no apparent reason. Please put them back! Also stop testing this out on users without even telling them.

Thanks, all. We'll be removing everyone who's requested withdrawal from the test group (and adding those who've said they'd like to try it).

remove me to pls

The4Seasons · 23/05/2025 22:30

Please remove me from this group too. I'm really struggling without the pages. Thank you

Changingforthisone25 · 23/05/2025 23:26

Please remove me too thanks

Please remove me too 🙏🏻

CiscoTS · 24/05/2025 09:57

I hope @JoMumsnet that when this does become a permanent (really annoying) feature, that we’ll have the option to use pages still? When I first joined MN, there was the option to view the whole thread, which I did so if I had an inkling it might disappear. I always reverted to pages afterwards because it’s so much damn easier to navigate, easier on the eyes and the brain. I’ve been here since 2011 and I don’t think I would be able to use MN without the pages option. I would have to leave which is a shame because I use MN every day, and have done since I first joined. I’ll have to take up reading or something 😂

BIossomtoes · 24/05/2025 10:08

It’s bloody awful. Please give me my pages back @BeckyAMumsnet @HebeMumsnet @JoMumsnet

Please remove me too! Makes me quickly give up on posts and although I rarely post I can’t see how to do it without quoting another post without getting to the very end of the thread. Poorly thought out feature.

Flott · 24/05/2025 10:32

Please can you remove me from this test group.

JordanaBevan · 24/05/2025 11:58

Please remove me from the infinite scroll test, thanks

FleurdeLion · 24/05/2025 12:41

Please remove me.

One of the reasons I love MN is the pagination.

I don’t know if I’m going to have a lovely long catchup on my favourite threads or a brief indulgence. It doesn’t load all the posts so I had to scroll up to catch where I was, which probably means having to use a bookmark! 😱😱😱😱😱

And the Trending threads are midway through the page, making me think I’m at the end of the page.

I had to scroll through all the posts to add a comment. Yes I know I could have jumped to the end, but this was horrible.

It’s messing with my autism which hates change, particularly without notice.

But most importantly it feels like I’m doomscrolling, which is why I don’t use other social media. It feels unending.

DirtyBird · 24/05/2025 12:57

Seems I was just added and I hate it. Please remove me as well.
