@BreadInCaptivity - it’s good that they did, but it wasn’t clear from the SiteStuff board. Nor is it particularly clear what’s going on from the Nightwatch board - that is NOT a criticism of the NW board, more to say that your response doesn’t point to a blanket resolution.
Just to clarify, iAm not trying to vilify MN here. Nor the NW volunteers. IAm concerned with freedom of posting photos being removed - that starts a slippery slope as to what we (ie mainly women) are permitted to share - plenty of people would be happy to start by eroding something so innocuous and then keep going.
But I still stand by MN making it more known a) what the problem has been recently and b) roughly what is being put in place (with a timeline).
TBF to MN, they won’t be the only site to be targeted with such vile stuff. Other well-known platforms are (probably) worse for this. It doesn’t make it ok, but I think it makes it important why MN are as transparent or informative, to as many users as possible, what’s been happening and a) how they’re dealing with it and b) what to do if it happens again. As said before, not everyone is aware of Site Stuff or Nightwatch Boards.
Again, disabling image posting would be a huge “win” for a number of people out there. The first, and easiest, step to curtailing freedom of posting. The onus is on MN to be as robust as possible re it not happening in the first place, and making it clear to ALL users what to do asap if anything does get through.
