There seems to be a fault with me receiving e-mails from MNHQ - please advise

I have logged in and just checked under "My Mumsnet" and my "Registration Details". There is a red note saying something along the lines of: that the e-mail address doesn't work and the last e-mail sent to me by MNHQ didn't work. (phrased much more professionally than that though)

I have checked the e-mail address which is fine. I haven't been getting the Round Up for several weeks. This is the only e-mail address I have used and never had problems at all, for example on the rare occasions I have reported posts or used CAT etc.

Please advise.

It might be Hotmail, Twig, it EATS the roundup for some reason.

peanutbear · 14/04/2008 10:41

I dont get it either Twig a I am on .mac havnt had it for ages come to think of it !!!

Twiglett · 14/04/2008 10:42

would it suddenly get hungry then .. I've had no problem before

JaneMumsnet · 14/04/2008 10:45

When did you stop getting it?

themoon66 · 14/04/2008 10:46

I haven't been sent roundup for ages either. And I do have that red message.

WanderingTrolley · 14/04/2008 10:47

Can someone (you) take over (you) the talk roundup (you) until mp returns?

We need someone on here a lot, like for work perhaps, and who is very witty and clever and insightful (fawn, sponge etc). I have been forced to do work recently and have not been able to read every thread twice, as is my obsession lack of friends wont. I could be missing information vital to my career in childcare and pissing about. If it weren't for mn I would have spent the last few years feeding innocent children a diet of Froot Shoots and Gregg's sausage rolls, and neglecting to dress them in Boden. The leetle children will suffer, you know.

pleading

WanderingTrolley · 14/04/2008 10:49

btw I switched to gmail from hotmail, and I did get the last newsletter, but no idea if the roundup will choose to frequent my inbox.

i never understand why the round-up isn't available somewhere on the site anyway. it would be great for newbies to get a flavour of the place and it's so frustrating when you don't get it and then see an 'i got a mention on the round-up' thread and there's no way of linking to it. some poor sod always ends off cutting and pasting it, which isn't v 21st century, is it?

JaneMumsnet · 14/04/2008 10:50

Bog off No sorry WT, the roundup is a editorial thing, I am in the luxurious offices Tech shed . It's Easter, she has kids! She'll be doing one soon.

moon, do you want to email me please so I can check your email and then get rid of your red message!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 14/04/2008 10:53

no talk round up?

I've just organised for someone to forward them to me as my hotmail eats them. And now you're telling me that there won't be any more?

Because of a parenting guru book

Can you someone else not do it in the meantime as WT suggests?

JaneMumsnet · 14/04/2008 10:53

Good idea Aitch, I'll mention it

JaneMumsnet · 14/04/2008 10:54

Oh lord, I've just realised what I wrote.

It's not the LAST one EVER, it's just the last one she's written. Sorry, I should have put latest!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 14/04/2008 10:55

phew!!!

AitchTwoOh · 14/04/2008 10:57

they could just plonk them on a blog, if necessary. it would give newbies a record of the MN editorial content and we could go and look for them too.

fletchaaarr · 14/04/2008 11:11

They should put a link to the latest one on the front page and at the top of talk I think?

lillypie · 14/04/2008 11:19

Thank you, that will be a huge relief to all that know me

oggsfrog · 14/04/2008 12:51

LittleJaneLapinMumsnetTechyperson, my email provider (not hotmail) does occasionally take it upon itself to decide something is not worthy of my attention spam or junk, but it dumps it into the junk file which I view daily. No round-ups in there .
The last one I had was on 28th March.

sandcastles · 14/04/2008 12:58

No round up here for a few wees either, but am still getting mumsnet weekly email & pregnancy updates, all to the same hotmail addy.

sandcastles · 14/04/2008 13:00

few weeks..obv!

YetMoreTech · 14/04/2008 15:01

There has been no talk roundup since the 28th. So hopefully that takes care of a few of the people on this thread!

Yahoo have suddenly started deciding that Mumsnet newsletters might be spam, because of "complaints from users". The issue here is that the mail doesn't get put in a spam folder, it gets deferred, if we're lucky.

BTInternet, obviously a common ISP in the UK, uses Yahoo for all their mail handling, so Yahoo's policy change impacts all BTInternet email addresses too.

Lastly, hotmail are just really awkward. Best bet with them is for you to add Mumsnet.com to your list of acceptable senders.

Anybody else that isn't receiving email and doesn't fit in to any of those categories, please email as Jane has suggested.

We're continuously battling to overcome those hurdles, but in the meantime, please do use the URLs already given in order to read the various mailings that go out. We're going to start putting them in a more organised format so that you never need miss a thing.

oggsfrog · 14/04/2008 17:04

... so the last one I got was the latest one and I haven't been ex-communicated after all.... ah... .
Sorry

onepieceoflollipop · 15/04/2008 14:35

Hello Jane (Tech)

Sorry I have only just managed to check my "Threads I'm On" and realised that you very kindly replied to my query yesterday.

I need to log in on my laptop this evening and e-mail you from there.

I wasn't being rude not replying yesterday, I managed to have a whole evening without mnetting!
