Do you find it weird when you are addressed by you Mumsnet name?

I'm not actally Lynette, except on MN, and find it really weird when people address me as Lynette.

I was thinking of changing my name recently, as a couple of my RL friends lurk here and I wanted to be anonymous, but suddenly found I had become quite attached to my name and didn't want to change!

Because, do you tell your friends your screen name? I've mentioned to a couple of people "oh I while away too many hours on mumsnet and rollercoaster" but I would never tell them my screen name...

I've only told anyone I've met up with on a MN night out.

Whole point is that they don't know who I am, which is why I was considering changing it.

DS2 also knows my name, which can be a bit irritating, although I doubt he'd find anything on here to really interest him! He's a nosy bugger and is always trying to find out our PIN numbers as well!

I find it weird when people call me Victoria as a shortened version of VictorianSqualor.
I think they're addressing someone else then realise they must think that's where my name comes from.
I even think of myself as 'VS' now.
I think I'd have a meltdown if I ever had to namechange and be someone else.

Not at all- except that my usewrname here is what DH gets called generally in RL, I get Mrs Peachy which I loathe.

Nah, the only thing that irks is when I get FS (not in this guise obv) because I think people are saying FFS and I get all aggressive
