Annoying "Unwatch/Save/Share" taking up screen on mobile site

Hi, not sure if this is deliberate or not!
I've posted on a thread, now when I revisit it there is a pulldown type thing saying "unwatch/save/share" that stays there when I scroll down the thread, taking up loads of space. It's annoying! It's at the top of the thread but I can't scroll down past it as it moves with me when I scroll.

I'm on Android mobile site.

I keep track of my Threads I'm Watching just fine, and never save or share through the site, so would rather this disappeared!

I can't add videos so this is the next best thing. Click on the arrows and that's what it's like.

Can we just check what device and browser you're using and can we ask if you're using an adblock at all?

IOS 17.3.1 iPhone 15 safari and no ad blocker thanks.

I'm also on an iPad 17.3.1 system and it's still doing it.

Just had a look on my iPhone XR, which also has 17.3.1, and it stays at the top of the screen on that. Irritating (I'd rather it wasn't there at all) but much less so than floating down over what you're trying to read.

Can we also double check if you have the screen zoomed in?

yes I do actually I am disabled screen is set at 150% is that the issue? I can't not zoom in.

I had my dh view the screen in zoomed it's still the same.

Whereas I don't have my screen zoomed.

I meant I had my dh view on my device UNzoomed and it's still the same.

It's not an issue - we're just getting all the facts as it makes it easier for us to try and replicate the problem!

Any sign of this being fixed yet, @LilyMumsnet ? It's still happening on Chat, at least. Makes the threads almost unreadable.

Yes please can you fix this I just can't use chat anymore.

I was reading on my iPhone this morning and it stayed at the top of the page - annoying but not unreadable - and I thought "Oh good, it must have been fixed." But no, I open a Chat page on my iPad and it's still scrolling and blocking the text. Persistent little bugger, whatever it is.

Thanks for bearing with us. We're still trying to resolve this issue but hope to have an update for you soon. In the meantime we're really sorry this is still causing problems for some of you.

It’s there in chat for me, it scrolls with the screen but the advert it sits under at the top of the screen is very annoying as it stays there taking up 25% of the screen space. I’m sure thats new?

This is ridiculous it has been going on since February can you please just fix it.

I've got the same issue, it's hogging my screen for some posts but no all.

It's a rat up a drain pipe.

@LilyMumsnet it's been three weeks I can't access chat due to the way I view the screen as I am disabled. When will you fix this?

Morning, everyone. We are continuing to test this new feature but we are reading all the feedback here and will be taking this into account when we make a final decision on the feature.

@DragonFly98 Thank you for all the info and screenshots you've sent over. That's really helpful. We're sorry to hear you're still not able to access Chat. We've had a really good look at the screenshots and it does look like you've got an ad blocker on there (there should be ads appearing where the grey spaces are in your screenshots). Unfortunately the site won't work properly with adblockers switched on so that might be contributing to the issue. We know you thought you didn't have any adblocker extensions but it might just be worth checking on your device that you haven't got something toggled on there accidentally that you weren't aware of. Something worth checking anyway. Hope that helps.

Thanks I haven't signed up to any paid ad blockers will check there are no free ones activated. I do use software to help me access safari properly due to my disability so it's maybe that it is blocking the ads. The moving bar happens on dh's phone too though and he has ads where I don't I have just asked him check.

@LilyMumsnet in what way doesn't the site work properly with ad blockers? I have free ones enabled and it works fine for me except for this feature in Chat - a feature I don't think is necessary at all, fwiw, because the options in that bar can already be found on any thread, and the drop-down menu is better because it doesn't take up any reading space.

Why is it taking so long to fix this? It's still there and now the bar is dark blue instead of white, which is even more distracting. My adblocker can't be responsible. Barely any adblockers work on iOS and I still see a lot of godawful ads for things I couldn't buy if I wanted to here and elsewhere.

Please fix this it's not an blocker issue at all.
