Advert not loading so thread gets stuck

I use the mobile site on my phone (flip4)
In the last week or so an advert wont load , so all i get is a white screen with the word advertisement at the top and then i cant scroll down to the the next post. Think this is on either Chrome or Samsung search

Yes this happen to me daily. Android phone. Chrome browser. I just close the site and presumably many users just leave

I've been having the same, at least once a day. Also on android. It's very annoying.

I have to keep closing the site its unusable

Thanks for letting us know about this - it sounds really frustrating.

Obviously you can't tell us anything about the advert as it's just a blank space, but if you (or anyone else here) can let us know which thread it's happening on we'll do our best to track down this ad and get it sorted.

The last thread it happened on was the "is this Bullying" thread

Hi again @bruffin - can you let us know roughly how far down the page you were when the ad froze the screen? We're trying to work out which ad unit this one has come from.

It's many many threads over the last few weeks!

It's usually a few posts down. I guess it must be the first in-post in-thread ad. It's just blank space from where it should be onwards, no more post to read either. Often it even then stops scrolling entirely which is why I leave the website.

Happens to me on all threads. I've "switched to desktop site" and it's fixed it.

Could you all please try clearing your cache and cookies? This should alleviate this issue for now (while we continue to monitor it).

I'm also expriencing this a lot on all threads for several days. Samsung S20+ on Chrome. Usually I have to press the refresh link to reload the thread but other times it freezes the whole browser and I have to close chrome and reopen it. It's particularly bad on one I've been reading for a few days called Lucy Letby - new thread in Chat. It's taking days to read it due to all the reloading!

Cleared cache and cookies and it's not helping on that thread. Here's an image of page 18 with the stuck advert at the bottom, just before I had to restart my browser. This should help you see how far down page 18 it was but I'm sure it happens at various points in the thread.

Yes, this has been happening to me too. Not just one thread and not all the time but randomly over the last few days.

I think its the ads for Dyslexia

Yes same here, it's just happened on the Nadine Dorries thread in Chat about half way down the first page. Then again straight after closing it and trying again!
