Boco · 22/02/2008 14:05

Wow that's much better - how about pointy sticks and horses, which is more kind of knightish. Knights of truth. But obviously without uncomfortable armour, something more glamorous in a breathable fabric.

SlugsNSnails · 22/02/2008 14:06

I have nothing against changing your name for a change, changing because you're too scared to say something in the name people "know" is just odd though. Either say what you think and take the consequences, or don't say it!

We sound like something out of Blackadder Boco .

foxinsocks · 22/02/2008 14:18

in fact, you'd make a great Queenie and no doubt I'd end up being Baldrick

I don't think Whodoyouthinkyouare's comments can in all honesty be construed as malicious, even if they were personal, Cod.

If so, 'tis a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, no? You've said far worse in your time.

Plus, if you get your enjoyment from making fun of everyone who contributes to all those threads you listed, you must surely anticipate a bit of retaliation.

Aren't you being a bit scaredy waredy by starting up a new thread about it and not confronting her on the original one?

(And no it's not me in case you are wondering, I'm too old to bother. It's all a bit surreal if you ask me; how can a name change be significant when the original names aren't real anyway iyswim???)

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/02/2008 14:26

Sheikyerbouti - I LOVE your list of namechanges.

All of those should be on the favourite nicknames thread that was around a couple of weeks ago

Boco · 22/02/2008 14:26

Queenie would be good, but I'd need more practical clothes or horseriding. Fox I don't think you're as grubby as Baldrick. You could be Bob!

Right. Who do we round up? What shall we do with them? I've sharpened my stick.

hecate · 22/02/2008 14:28

Malicious name changing should not be allowed. Plain and simple. Posting spite under a fake name is horrible.

WallOfSilence · 22/02/2008 14:31

I changed my name for a thread a few weeks ago & haven't changed back.

Obviously didn't make an impression with my old name as I've been asked a few times who I was

Wouldn't namechange deliberately to be rude to anyone.

Countingthegreyhairs · 22/02/2008 14:31

Agree that malicious posts should not be allowed Hecate - whatever name they are written under.

foxinsocks · 22/02/2008 14:32

lolol twas one of my nicknames at university

ooh has someone been nasty to cod

platesmasher · 22/02/2008 14:34

something about her having the qualities required to be a magistrate on the 'cliquey' thread.
I don't get it.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/02/2008 14:38

snidey comment about the qualities required by magistrate

Boco · 22/02/2008 14:39

Not defending Cod on her cliquey thread, she's dissing the veggers man.

Wotzonked · 22/02/2008 14:45

pmsl has someone been mean about your thread?
Oh dear

K999 · 22/02/2008 14:53

Oh god, not another thread which has stemmed from an earlier thread where some one dared to offer a different opinion...

tbh I dont give a feck about name changers....lots of people state their opinions anyway. But some people change their names for personal reasons, ie delicate subject.....

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2008 14:57

I name changed yesterday although I then responded in my own name which blew my cover.

I did it as I know people are researching on the internet about the topic I posted about so they could type their search into google and then come straight to my thread, realise very quickly it was me and then go through my posts. - and they would and some of the stuff they would find would make uncomfortable reading.

But as I blew my cover that is probably what is happening right now

twinsetandpearls · 22/02/2008 14:59

Sory missed the maliscious bit, I will declare myself a NOBOOS!

JeremyVile · 22/02/2008 15:00

Oh, Cod, you took the piss, made some people feel shitty and they changed names to speak their minds - the only thing I dont like about that is that thry feel they have to change names to say their piece.
Namechanging is not a big deal (it can be very malicious, but imo isn't in this instance). Have a go under assumed name number 1 or assumed name number 2 - doesn't really matter doeas it?
In the grand scheme of things you have a bit of a cheek taking umbridge at people name changing given that they are doing so because you have been rude again.

expatinscotland · 22/02/2008 15:02

I don't change my name to post.

Well, that's pretty obvious to everyone here.

Wotzonked · 22/02/2008 15:13

JeremyVile that's very true.

some of those threads that you go around taking the piss out of, offer real support to new and old Mner's. One MNer who regularly uses one of the threads you are taking the piss out of has just come back from a funeral. FWIW it wasn't that Mner who namechanged as they weren't here at the time, so don't assume.

Starting another thread like is just silly. Report it if you don't like it.

Carmenere · 22/02/2008 15:18

Well Cod is always wrong for slagging off those cliquey threads (and they are cliquey, just because your say they aren't doesn't mean they aren't, but hey, so what) but bringing up someones rl job is very low imo. If it was a poster with less metal than Cod there would be mucho bleating and outrage around here.

Boco · 22/02/2008 15:19

lol at 'why are you so scaredy waredy'. I'm picturing cod with plaits and a wonky tie and a hockey stick, chewing gum, with some henchmen and a hickey.
