Is there some sort of concerted campaign afoot? I've noticed a few threads recently, all along the same lines. Very dog whistley...

10+ years ago I didn't have an epidural during childbirth because I didn't want to take the chance that it might lead to surgical intervention. I didn't take the opiates I was prescribed after dental surgery because I didn't want to. I don't care if other people do those things, everyone should make their own choice about what happens to or what they put in their bodies. Apparently that makes me qanon now. And you wonder why vaccine hesitancy is increasing? Look at the approach you're taking. No, you would just blame it on so called right wingers. Absolutely nuts, sorry.

MyopicBunny · 15/04/2023 09:52

I didn't say you are QAnon. But the dishonest thinking that Math mentioned earlier in the thread is exactly what caused all the hesitancy around the covid vaccine. And does come from QAnon etc.

I don’t know anyone amongst family (across five countries/three continents), friends or work colleagues who isn’t fully vaccinated.

DayKay · 15/04/2023 12:49

Why do people keep bringing Qanon into it? No one I knew follows Qanon stuff yet many don't trust governments or believed in mandates. People can't deny that many, many people got rich from taking advantage of the situation. I don't know anyone who believes that covid doesn't exist yet they still queried how lockdowns were managed, the psychological tactics used, whether kids needed to be vaccinated and so on.
You don't need to be a conspiracy theorists to question what was going on.
I actually got my dcs to read Animal Farm during lockdown so they understood how governments grab power and some of the tactics that were used.

We’re not big tv watchers. Lived in the UK until last year but didn’t watch many uk tv channels.

So what lies were we sold ? - DH, a doctor, was working on a Covid ward during the early days of the pandemic so fully aware of what was happening.

adriftabroad · 15/04/2023 13:59

I do not know a single person(bar two70plus men)who have had all the vaccines(Spain &UK)

My DD had none.

QAnon is a conspiracy theory group on the internet. Weird ideas - very anti vax.

adriftabroad · 15/04/2023 14:22

Ah.Thankyou!

Well nobody I know is antivax. Lots decided 1covid vaccine was enough though, some none.
Nobody is agressive about it!

MyopicBunny · 15/04/2023 15:26

Most Qanoners distanced themselves from that particular narrative once Donald Trump lost the election and slumped back to Mar-a-lago instead of saving the world from child eating pedophiles like they thought was going to happen. 😂

None of them ever admit to believing it now because they could no longer keep on with that one but it was the root cause of the lies about Covid back when it all started.

So most people who were in that camp still believe the lies about vaccines but just dropped the fantasies about Trump.

It's all absolute rubbish and if you can think logically and critically that would be perfectly obvious.

The websites that most covid deniers use all have a link to donate money to them. Covid deniers are awfully concerned about the money made by 'big pharma', yet are impervious to the possible motivations of those who spin anti-vax narratives. As if they couldn't possibly have their own agendas.

We saw politicians getting their vaccines and news articles that members of the Royal Family had theirs.

93% of the uk population have had at least one vaccine, 88% two and 70% three.

Oh my god. You really have been doing some quality "reading".

It's pretty interesting to see one live, in the wild.

The "my vaccine right or wrong" people on this thread are only interested in discussing the really way-out conspiracy theories and not about the need to have an honest conversation about these things.

It is no secret that even the most tested vaccines will cause adverse effects in some people and the covid vaccines were rushed out. I got vaccinated in full knowledge that I was at risk from the vaccine but I was more at risk from covid because of my age. But I would never vaccinate a healthy child against covid as fortunately enough covid does not put them in danger.

How wrong you are about covid and children, and also in your assessment of the vaccine.

Yes, a girl who went to school with my dd, now has long covid after having asymptomatic Covid. She was 13 when she first had covid. The vaccines hadn't yet been offered to her age group. She still uses a wheelchair to this day. Before this, she was a very sporty girl. Her mum has become an advocate for awareness about long covid in children.

What do you mean 'there isn't one?'

The only person who thinks there isn't one is David Icke. Afaik.
