Search not working

If I search for a user it comes up with no results. Is this deliberate or a glitch? Thank you.

Oh dear @AutisticLegoLover that's annoying. Search by user is working for us - are you searching within a specific date range?

I'm on the app on an iPhone. There's no date option.

If you go onto Advanced Search it works.

Photos don't post on the app either.

I get the same since the last couple of days at least.

Any search by name comes up with no posts and the default time period has changed from "all time" to the "last year". What I see is "No results, Your search came back empty".

If I change the time range to "All time" then a handful of posts come back from a few years ago. This behaviour persists across several random names I've tried.

On a MBP running Ventura, on all three different browsers - this looks like a search issue rather than a webpage issue.

Have you reverted to the old search? I have also noticed it's not working as the "new" search had been. And there's a link to advanced search that I hadn't noticed before.

In a way good because the Advanced Search link takes you to what looks like the old AS, which I had missed.

However, I'd got used to the new search and it's a bit strange to have it now not work as it has been for the last few months.

Surely somebody in the tech department must know if you've switched the new search off!

In the new search, there was no specific user search - BeckyMumsnet and HebeMumsnet, you seem to be referring to the function on the old AS of user search.

But since the big site makeover, the normal search has shown user posts, without running a specific search for posts by user.

I have this issue too, the ‘no results’ and the ‘temp change by MN’. It’s not a device issue.

Mines the same as the screenshots Crooked posted. Copy and paste a username into search bar and that’s the result every time. No results, and in the username list on the left box there’s that thing about a ‘temp change by MN’

Like not being funny but don't you have an old iPhone lying about that tech can use to test the issue?

We're looking at this now and we will update when we have more information.

Any update on this? I still have the problem in exactly the same form as described in my post to this thread on 23/1.

Search still defaults to one year instead of all time, still fails to find anything other than a handful of posts scattered across mostly older time periods.

Looks a lot more like back end search issue than a device issue from here.
