And if not, it looks as though I've hidden it. Can anyone tell me how to unhide it?

@JaneJeffer Well I believe I was! I shared that I had read some info about the disappearing thread in the Telegraph, to which you responded ‘That’s not true!’
Read Saturday’s Telegraph for yourself - you’ll find the interview is there.

@GloomyDarkness I have the clingiest children ever but I can't imagine William and Katherine's children have that choice.

If MNHQ are reinstating the RF topic will they be able to find out why it disappeared?

You would certainly hope so. If an entire topic disappears and MNHQ have no idea why it vanished or what caused it to happen that doesn't look great for the users of the site.

I think that she probably has enough staff that a nanny could have taken Charlotte and sorted it.

Possibly - but I've no idea about Kate mental health or physical well being after the birth - what else she had on - whether she'd need to be there or child would be happy with nanny as they'd just got a new sibling and make be needing parents around for reassurance (my kids didn't but some do). I don't know how bad the dress was.

I also wonder why if Megan was so stressed she didn't delegate dresses and wedding to some of her staff and maybe ask Kate to contact one of them and not her.

I do know despite the great tailor being on standby- the dresses on the day look very poor - and many commented and assumed they hadn't been professional designed, made and fitted. The fabric was subsequently blamed as being too thick - which TBH frankly is astonishing as you'd expect that to be part of design process.

Agree with all. Meghan and her bridesmaids looked like sacks of potatoes on the day and her hair was plain scruffy - those lank bits hanging down the side of her face 😩

M did look utterly stunning in her second night event white dress though.

Cath667 · 09/01/2023 20:08

Those texts aren't factual. This is Harry's telling of the story in his book!

onlylarkin · 09/01/2023 20:08

"also wonder why if Megan was so stressed she didn't delegate dresses and wedding to some of her staff and maybe ask Kate to contact one of them and not her."

She did delegate it. To the tailor that was standing by at KP.

Three weeks post birth a new mother needs to be resting and breastfeeding, the baby isn't in any sort of routine and probably feeds frequently for extended periods. It's completely unreasonable to be expecting her to be running around at dress fittings, hanging around with the other mothers. Kate has all my sympathy on this. And as regards dramas with Thomas Markle, if Meghan and Harry had made the effort to visit him at some point either before their engagement or in the run up to the wedding then I'm sure problems might've been avoided and I still find it extraordinary that they didn't visit him at any point before the wedding. I have seen it said that Kate simply couldn't understand how Meghan had no family and hardly any friends coming to the wedding but I daresay it meant she expected drama and was low on sympathy about it.

doory · 09/01/2023 20:08

@Orangefir but I guess there were time constraints.

MoscowMules · 09/01/2023 20:08

It was ill fitting. In reality the waistband needed to sit at least an inch higher, the hem adjusted to it would lay straight, the puffed shoulders reduced as they were too big. Once you start adjusting these it affects the rest of the dress, meaning it’s easier to remake (not from scratch but taken apart/ measured/cut/sewn). This is what should have happened.

if you look at Charlottes compared to the Canadian bff daughters dress they look quite different. Her skirt flairs out- Charlottes doesnt. I think it’s been taken in at the waist and it’s lost some of its darting. It’s lost all volume. It looks unlined too. The bffs daughter fits perfectly and looks great. Charlotte and some of the other girls dresses look at least a size too big and don’t look great. I don’t understand why there wasn’t a fitting. Seems odd. I don’t know anyone who has had flower girls and not had them fitted for dresses (even if was just bought from monsoon and checked that it’s the right size)

To be honest all the flower girl dresses looked god awful, and fitted terribly.

They looked like something your nan would knock up, out of 2 pillowcases and some left over curtain lining when you were the angel at the school nativity back in the day.

Orangefir · 09/01/2023 20:05

Hence why the girls should have been fitted and the dresses not made from measurements. Couture dresses you have at least 2 fittings. At least. They get the dresses in to try them on kids 4 days before the wedding? I’ve never known anyone to do this re flower girls. You have to pay particular attention to the fitting of the dresses as kids can grow between fittings. It why it’s important.

That dress looked like someone's auntie had run it in her kitchen TBH.

There are low level but I guess the issue was the narrative that it was all Meghan fault.

Indeed.

Hence my need for objectivity and reading the full text [If real]. I know it's difficult for some people who hate someone to see anything good in them (and vice versa) but this one isn't "all on meghan" and I don't hesitate to call her out where necessary.

This Royal family stuff is the gift that keeps on giving.

(I'm a SAHM to two children, yes I'm bored)

Yep, I've done bugger all the last few days. Now I'll have to go back to interacting with my kids. 😭

LemonSwan · 09/01/2023 20:10

Go on MNHQ 🤣

Channel Camilla!

doory · 09/01/2023 20:10

@ShamedBySiri but why are you assuming she is expected to hang about & run around?
I'm sure Kate could have arranged to be there for a set time.

BradfordGirl · 09/01/2023 20:12

This is Charlotte's dress.

ThePoshUns · 09/01/2023 20:12

Eugenie's bridesmaid's dresses were far better.

BethDuttonsTwin · 09/01/2023 20:12

Didn’t M & H jump the queue with regards to royal weddings? Wasn’t Eugenie supposed to go first but gave up her spot as they were in such a hurry? No wonder it was all so chaotic.

AutumnCrow · 09/01/2023 20:13

LegoAmies · 09/01/2023 19:57

Interesting! I can't spot them, are they pro M&H or pro the rest of the family?

I haven't had time to do that sort of analysis to any accurate degree unfortunately. I have an impression though based on another MN board that the aims and objectives may be more about disruption of Mumsnet than genuinely supporting the forces of Sussex or Cambridge advancing to a battlefield in a car park in north London.

I think Kate should have delegated the dress alterations to her mother / sister/ staff and just got on with it. A bride has a lot on and Meghan had more than most with her father.
Im no Meghan fan I think Kate seemed a bit precious.

Or just got one of their nannies to do it or of course Charlottes dad! If Katherine was just like every other mum juggling breastfeeding with fully parenting the other children and everything else then maybe William should have been parenting too!!

Itsnottime · 09/01/2023 19:51

Agree with this. Both sides are being rude and curt and really don''t sound like they like each other at all. I do think it's odd that Kate wouldn't be a bit kinder and nicer considering all the fall out with Meghan's father. The fact that they can be quoted verbatim like this suggests that Harry or Meghan actually took screen shots and kept them for years afterwards. I find that extremely peculiar to say the least.

Is it that they took screenshots or that the text was stored in Meghan's phone, like regular people do?

I know the aren't above screenshots but still, unless you delete every message, or do a clean up every year, some of us have messages going back years that we've forgotten. I suppose I could go looking for something someone sent me once if I thought that would help my narrative.
