Why won’t MNet take seriously other sites trolling here?

Tattle users are openly bragging about trolling this site, including confessing to being behind one long standing, very identifiable thread on here. When reported MN say they don’t look at other sites. Meanwhile photographs are taken from another thread on here daily for ridicule over there, whilst the people on the thread here keep posting unaware their images are being used to poke fun at.

Mumsnet has become sport for Tattle users to troll. Surely it’s in the interest of this to look at other sites and protect the users here? There will always be trolls as long as there is an internet, but when someone on another site is actively telling you they are behind things surely you have a duty to take that seriously?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the dressing room on LW 🤣 If this is true, a certain co presenter of hers has around 80 threads on Tattle.

I saw you had a comment deleted on a very longstanding thread series last night @Welllookiehere but I came along too late to see what it originally said. I gather it was calling someone out for BS.

I've never looked at Tattle but I might go on over to see for myself what's being said about MN on there.

I was briefly a member of Tattle (nothing to do with MN to do with celebs).

If I did see any MNers or ex MNers on there I think some did have fair points to make about why they’d left MN and had absconded to Tattle.

I don’t think it’s big and clever to have two accounts and make up a story eg on one site but I’d guess this is happening across a few forums and sites and MN can’t police them all.

Surely it warrants looking into, not just a blanket ‘we don’t look at other sites’. Especially when the People involved in the threads seem to post at the same times on both sites. It’s a game to get threads into the Mail and into Classics. It’s not always been like this. I’ve been here many many years and although trolls have always been present they haven’t been a competitive sport.

I do namechange frequently, but frankly i find it deeply uncomfortable to come across a photo of a mnetter who’s sharing on a thread on a not especially busy board, where they are ridiculing everything she is wearing and everything around her. Yes, it’s up to those posters to decide what to share, but I feel it does bear repeating that there are folk out there who live to put down others and that’s where there images may end up.

But there genuinley is nothing they can do. They're not allowed to share info of other people private information (here and other sites) amongst them unless there is a police warrant.

You're posting on a public site that's free to join and browse. Taking posts from here and posting them elsewhere is very similar to other websites, SM, newspapers/tv sharing peoples tweets, public Facebook posts or sharing a video from YouTube that someone else has posted.

I agree OP. MN could mod the obvious Tattle threads on here better. In the past, they'd delete them. Now they are letting threads run that are obviously from Tattle.
Trolls from there would get bored in the past because their threads here never ran that long. It seems like MN has just given up on trying to deal with any of the trolls. They're making the site unusable.
