Cookie consent - an update

Hi everyone.

Just a quick heads-up let you know that we’re updating our cookie consent tool today, which means you’ll be asked to re-consent when you click on the site. This should all be pretty straightforward but if you experience any issues, please let us know on this thread.

Yep me too. It happened before and someone from @mumsnet explained how to stop it. I wish I could find that post as it makes MN unuseable as it is.

Oh no, MN isn’t going to become one of those maddening sites that keeps on asking you about cookies every single time you visit, is it? Can’t we just consent once?

Same here it’s appearing every page I click on even multiple pages on each thread. EVERY PAGE! which makes the site pretty unusable. I’ll come back when you’ve fixed it. Very annoying.

I’ve consented and it’s still appearing on every page on every thread I click on or after I’ve posted too. Annoying

Phone & iPad
Navigate to your settings
Click on ‘Safari’
Scroll to the bottom and choose ‘Advanced’
Click on ‘Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’

If you follow the instructions below the consent pop-up should stop appearing once you've reselected your preferences.

iPhone & iPad
Navigate to your settings
Click on ‘Safari’
Scroll to the bottom and choose ‘Advanced’
Click on ‘Website Data’
Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box
Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’

Please let us know if anyone's still having problems with this.

@GingerAndLemonn - here are the instructions for Chrome:

Computer - Delete specific cookies

On your computer, open Chrome
At the top right, click More ⋮ > Settings
Click Privacy and security
Cookies and other site data
Click See all site data and permissions
At the top right, search for Mumsnet
To the right of the site, click Remove
To confirm, click Clear.

Android - Delete specific cookies

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app
Visit Mumsnet.com
To the right of the address bar, tap More ⋮ > Info > Cookies.
Next to the number of cookies in use, tap Delete

iPhone &iPad - Clear all cookies

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app
At the bottom right, tap More ⋮ > Settings
Tap Privacy > Clear Browsing Data.
Tick Cookies, Site Data. Untick the other items.
Tap Clear Browsing Data > Clear Browsing Data.
Tap Done.

We really shouldn’t have to be faffing about doing that to get the website to work properly!!!

I have to click accept everyone a new post, page or thread update happens.

I’ve done what you’ve asked and it’s still doing it
