Pages freezing and can't be refreshed

Chrome on a laptop.
If I walk away to do something else for a while and then come back to a mumsnet page, I find it frozen. Refreshing doesn't do anything and the page remains unresponsive. I have to close it and start from scratch.

This had been happening for a few days, and only with mumsnet. What's going on?

Yep. Left my laptop to make some lunch. And same thing happened.

I've been one of the more tolerant of posters about the mess the update has left behind. But now I'm losing patience.

Same here and absolutely fed up with it. Took me ages to track down the cause, too.

Chrome and laptop also.

Happened today, Chrome on Android (tablet). Had to close the page and reopen the thread. I now bookmark a lot more in long threads so it's easier to find my place again...

Is anyone from mnhq even looking at the threads on this branch any more? Or are we all supposed to post in the updates thread?

Same problem here. I have posted numerous times about the scrolling issue and no one has replied to that either. Very disappointing

Same, but it freezes while I'm trying to post. Waiting doesn't help, refreshing doesn't work. Have to leave the page, go back, and type it all over again

I came here to post about the same thing. It's been happening for a few days now. It's quicker to close the tab and start again but it's really annoying.

Been a major problem ever since the new site - frankly it's making me use MN a lot less as who wants to waste all this time

It happened to me multiple times yesterday, and is still going on this morning.

Occasionally causing browser to freeze /crash

It's definitely MN - no struggles with anything else.

Afternoon all and thanks for your patience with this. Our Tech team have asked us to get some finer details from you all so that they can try to replicate this issue and get to the bottom of it.

It would be really helpful if you could please answer the following questions (sorry, we know that some of you have already given us your device and browser but it would save time to have all the info in one post under your username!)

Here are the questions:

Which device and browser are you using?
When the page froze, how long did you leave it for when you came back to find it frozen?
Which page on the site were you on when the freezing happened?

Can be any thread which freezes, at any point, duration varies

Happening still this morning, after having been v cranky yesterday evening

Also if i leave MN tab open when I shut my laptop, it will invariably be frozen when I open it again. Sometimes I can close the tab and try again with a new one. Other times it's frozen whole browser (that has occasionally happened when browsing too)

Possibly separately, yesterday, I got a complete error message (502?) in the morning - don't know how long it lasted, because after a couple of attempts to get in I gave up

Android phone. Website. Think Im using chrome.

Any and all pages can freeze. Also takes ages to load then freezes.
If I click away from mumsnet (ie different icon on my phone) then go back it's almost guaranteed to freeze.
