Sorry - wish I could help. I’m so accustomed to my own set up - mobile site on iphone - that it seems extraordinary to me that other people access MN differently! (I don’t even know how the re-platforming looks on the app as I never use it.)

mine is a tablet but I changed orientation to make it more like a phone. This is what I see in portrait. I assumed the scrolling was for down, not side.
