Is anyone else finding Mumsnet almost unusable now?

I’ve been a user of mumsnet since 2012 and, for the first time, I’m considering leaving. Every time I click on threads to read them, halfway down the page the posts disappear, as though they’re still loading… except it’s hit and miss whether they actually do or not. Sometimes I try refreshing the page but that doesn’t work. Sometimes I wait, and sometimes that works.

Even now, while I’m trying to post, it didn’t automatically apply the caps at the start of the sentence.

It is clunky, it’s slow, I can no longer ‘just’ read threads I want to because half of them are missing. I love mumsnet but if I can’t read to the end of threads, what’s the point?

Yup. Been trying to post on a thread and given up. The app is shit and it’s an absolute ballache reading threads and after the last few weeks of the site refusing to post my replies I’ve given up. Why Mumsnet why? Just admit that this was a silly idea and revert back to the previous version that actually worked!

The app is awful, I've deleted it already.

Im guessing Mums net cannot be bothered to read this thread....

MN introducing StupidSearch is just unspeakable

StupidSearch is a great way of describing it. MN search was bad before the update, googling for a thread was often easier and more successful.

When they announced the update I thought at least they can't make the search function any worse... turns out I was wrong. The new StupidSearch makes the old advanced search seem like it was actually fit for purpose. 🤦🏼‍♂️

I can’t even comment on posts on my iPad now sobs! I’ve cleared cookies and history and my iPad doesn’t need updating 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is the thing that pisses me off the most!

Bookmarks are very slow again on my phone.

This is the same problem I have! So it's not just me. It started when I tried to log in to the new site. How do you go in via incognito mode though? I have tried clearing cookies from my phone but that hasn't helped.

@MNHQ it keeps crashing on me when scrolling through a thread it when composing a reply (which it then wipes). It's driving me nuts!!

but thank you for fixing the 'you've been mentioned' link taking you directly to the list you were mentioned on and not just to the thread!

It's really not great on a mobile. Scrolling is clunky and ads take up so much space I end up clicking on them inadvertently when I'm trying to scroll through a thread. Annoying.

It's the sporadic nature of the glitches that's puzzling.

For example, about 10 minutes ago, Preview stopped working for me. I closed the MN tab, opened it again, and now it's working fine.

The slowness-of-loading and the Bookmarking issues are also sporadic.

I'm having problems reading threads on my phone. It keeps saying the MN servers are having issues and they're having a strong cuppa or something like that (I don't remember exactly).

Also, I use MN on my phone and computer and I don't like that I have to choose between seeing All posts on a thread or some. I liked it before when you could change it on the thread as it's easier to read all on my computer, but not my phone.

if you click on a thread in active and then use the back button other threads I wanted to read have gone
Advanced search completely gone
New search facility not fit for purpose
Threads I’m watching I have no idea if new posts have been put up as just get a total now
Threads don’t attract much response anymore it’s like a ghost town on here now.

Slow loading and that infuriatingly infantile and patronising ‘cup of tea’ message when the server has gone tits up again.

i find it difficult and annoying.
i'm sure they've lost a lot of people who used to enjoy it.
i am on chromebook.
the OP's posts, see next, only goes to one next post. previously it would jump to the next OP contribution within the thread, and then you could click again, see next, and so on. i would read a few of the surrounding posts to get an idea of how the discussion was going. it was useful.
now i can only get one subsequent OP post, even if they have made several.
i can press, see all, but then i see nothing of other posters'.
and why have a see next if it only works once ?
and no refresh button now. have to go back to active and then find thread again. clunky.
