Is anyone else finding Mumsnet almost unusable now?

I’ve been a user of mumsnet since 2012 and, for the first time, I’m considering leaving. Every time I click on threads to read them, halfway down the page the posts disappear, as though they’re still loading… except it’s hit and miss whether they actually do or not. Sometimes I try refreshing the page but that doesn’t work. Sometimes I wait, and sometimes that works.

Even now, while I’m trying to post, it didn’t automatically apply the caps at the start of the sentence.

It is clunky, it’s slow, I can no longer ‘just’ read threads I want to because half of them are missing. I love mumsnet but if I can’t read to the end of threads, what’s the point?

Agree it’s clunkier now when scrolling OP — at least that has been my recent experience.

I've swopped to the app, I don't love it but it's hugely better than the mess that is now the main site.

It's terrible. After using it regularly for years, I rarely.go on this site now.

Too many adverts.
Too many gaps
I’m struggling to find features that I used to use (and I don’t use many!)
it just feels clunky and slow.

Yes it's very sad. I've noticed that the quality of content has dropped off along with the traffic on the main boards that used to be a lot of fun or really interesting & helpful.

I'm here now for the FWR.

I might try the app as this is dire.

Yep, hate it now (and that's on the app!) Desktop site unusable, none of it is fun or relaxing any more.

I prefer the app too as it's the same as before atm.

Otherwise, on my laptop it's just awful. Swathes of white and constant scrolling, It's a chore really.

Hate that you can no longer just click on all messages now on a laptop but have to keep on clicking on the next page.

I don't find it that much different. I usually view it in a Chrome browser window on an Android phone, and it is fine. Capitalisation works automatically. There is fractionally more white space, but nothing that is particularly noticeable. What are you viewing the site on?

Not really. Yes, it looks odd, page is half empty. Some of the things are a bit annoying and don't like it. But still usable, and to me it's not a big deal tbh.

I think you can change that in settings (at least you can on Android)

Like FindMe I have noticed hardly any difference on Chrome on Android.

I can no longer click on a link on my phone and have it open in the app. How can I change this?

It’s ok on my phone but on my iPad, I have to click ‘accept and close’ every time I look at something new, so multiple times.

I posted elsewhere on this board - I find it fine using it on Chrome on a laptop, but my mobile simply refuses to load the site (I get a bad gateway message). It's actually probably a good thing in that I am spending way less time on Mumsnet, but surely not the intended result of the relaunch.

Notifications of new posts on watched threads now just bring me to the first post in a thread. Pointless. So I am visiting MN much less.

I only use on IOS safari but it’s mostly improved for me. There are a few issues such as, if I watch a thread it doesn’t go to the top of my ‘watched’ I have to scroll looking for it. There are a few other areas not very user friendly but for the most part it’s ok and will hopefully improve

I’ve just signed up to another forum so will see how this one goes but everything they’ve done on this one seems to be a downgrade and it was already a forum that was behind others.

The app isn't great. The "I'm on" or "watching" threads often show that they have new posts, when they don't. The threads seem to be in random order & bookmarks don't always work.

It’s horrid - don’t like the app either. The search functionality isn’t fit for purpose so I’m largely giving up
