Showing my email address instead of my user name

When I use mumsnet on my laptop it is showing my email address instead of my user name under "Add your message here". I use Firefox.
I have to manually change it to my user name on every thread I respond to.

Any idea why this is happening?

Um you might want to get this thread deleted because now the whole weird internet can see your email address

That isn't my email address. It is just a made up one as an example.

I am interested to know what this glitch is as that could be bad news if people don't spot it!

Hi @RampantIvy thanks for reporting this. Please can you try completely signing out of the site and back in again? Give us a shout if you continue to see this issue.

I am having exactly the same problem. I have logged out and in again twice.

My email address shows highlighted in pale yellow where the username should be. If I delete it the field repopulates itself with my actual username.

It won't actually let me post with my email address as it says
"You do not own the username: [email protected]"

Signing out and back in has made no difference.

It is happening to me too, it is highlighted in yellow. I use Firefox on laptop. However, if I delete it using the back button it then reveals my username.

Also, when I start to delete my email address using the backspace button a little box comes up underneath the email address with a little key to the side of it and the words 'from this website'.

It's very annoying, please fix it.

I'm having the same problem with firefox, have logged out and cleared all cookies.

Hi - just dropping in to say thanks for the reports. It appears to be your browsers auto-populating that section, so we're looking to fix this now and will keep you posted.

happening to me too, reported by email, i have logged out and in again, and restarted lspyop - i first noticed it yesterday evening.

This is soooo worrying. Just imagine if every post you’ve ever created appears with your email rather than username. This is what I’ve always feared when using this site.

I’m going to stop posting now because of this.

It's happening to me too, but only in Firefox, not in Chrome.

It doesn't let you post with your email address apparently, you can just see it

I am using Firefox on a desktop pc
my android tablet - using Firefox, too - still shows my username

I manually changed to my username, to see if this works

I won't try to post until this is solved.

I'm still seeing my hotmail address, but if I backspace over it to clear it, it remembers that I'm still ThinWomansBrain.
I don't think it was doing that yesterday - but it might just be I was pasting or typing my name in.
