Hide thread function not keeping threads hidden

Hi, I’ve been using the hide thread option but threads I’ve hidden keep popping back into the Active Convos page.

I wasn’t sure if hide thread only meant for that page at that time but when I searched for more info I found this previous thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3007679-Hide-threads-not-working which suggests hide thread is supposed to, well, hide the thread but for good not just for that specific Active Convos page at that time.

I would appreciate not having to rehide threads all the time especially as fat finger typing means I occasionally open threads instead of hitting the ••• bit to hide.

Could you ask tech to have a look again please?

Are you able to let us know what device and browser you're using?
Also, if you have a time-estimate of when threads reappear, that'd be really useful!

Hey @Catiopea I am looking into this for you. So from what I can see, you say you're using Safari on mobile and it's the mobile, version of the site? You don't happen to be viewing the desktop version of the site on your mobile?

And the way you are hiding your threads is by going into the thread itself, clicking on the down arrow located at the top of the thread and then selecting 'hide this thread'?

Have you tried another browser at all, does the same thing happen?

Apologies for all the questions, I'm just trying to think of the things I might be asked in order to get to the bottom of it.

I have been trying to recreate this issue, but am a bit confused. You say you are using the mobile web browser and you're hiding threads on the active page by the three dots on the title. I don't see this view on mobile - do you have a screen shot of where you mean? I know our apps allow you to hide a thread from the active page, but I wasn't aware you could on the mobile web view.
