Probably still time to organise it... not sure how nominations and voting would take place? What would the categories be?

  • Funniest MN-er
  • Best MN-er in a supporting role
  • Most eloquent poster
  • ?
  • ?
  • ?

Prizes could be awarded at the glamourous christmas party...

recipes for disaster, imo...

hmb · 16/09/2004 18:13

Don't like the thought of 'best poster', but most amusing thread might me an idea.

My vote would go for mad table cloth lady, was tat this year?? I'm going senile.

posyhairdresser · 16/09/2004 18:21

best thread award is a good idea IMO

blossomhill · 16/09/2004 20:58

Yeah, like the best thread idea better

kalex · 16/09/2004 21:20

My best thread awrd would have to go to the thread that someone said to to tie tights to their head. I wasn't involved at the time butI read it and I was hysterical

mummytosteven · 16/09/2004 21:22

i think the best thread had to be that chat thread a couple of months ago that had several MNetters rifling the contents of their undy draw and fessing up to how many knickers and bras they owned

does this make me a worryingly disturbed individual that this is my best thread

anorak · 16/09/2004 21:23

My favourit was the thread about what the thread titles will be when we're all grannies.

'Which is the best zimmer frame?'
'Am I being unreasonable no 4539'
'husband on viagra'

etc

kalex · 16/09/2004 21:31

PMSL laughing anorak, but if I am still posting here as a Granny I need mre help than I already need

jodee · 17/09/2004 10:07

Batters, that's OK, I wasn't that keen myself (think it was the idea of a £50 cheque that grabbed my attention)!

Bunglie · 17/09/2004 10:18

Best thread award ....definitely has to go to
Tights on head whilst on phone....I still PMSL when I think of it, hence got know tights left to try it with...their all in the wash!

wobblyknicks · 17/09/2004 10:19

And Bunglie definitely gets the award for most useful present given at a mumsnet party!!!

Bunglie · 17/09/2004 10:27

AWE WK didn't know you cared so much....have you used it then....go one fess up.....we're waiting.....

Miaou · 17/09/2004 10:55

Please can you post a link to the tights thread? I missed that one.... I need a laugh today (got the flu )

wobblyknicks · 17/09/2004 10:59

I haven't used it yet but I know where it is in my bedroom so if I ever get trapped in one day for any reason or develop chronic laziness it will be a godsend!!

coppertop · 17/09/2004 11:01

I remember posting silly titles about what threads we'd start when we had a Gransnet. Does that mean I might get a prize?

I think my favourite so far has been the one about someone's dh/dp buying them a rabbit - and not the fluffy kind!

agy · 17/09/2004 11:44

Only just seen this thread. Love Suzywongs's "best lurker" comment!

JanH · 17/09/2004 11:53

miaou, phones-in-tights for you.

Should have new comp next week btw. Will be in touch. Hope you feel better soon!

Bunglie · 17/09/2004 12:14

Janh...how could you... just read it again and NOW got to go and do my washing!

Bunglie · 17/09/2004 12:46

....And Bunglie get's the thread killer award.....

wobblyknicks · 17/09/2004 13:13

No she doesn't!

coppertop · 17/09/2004 13:17

I think I'd be in with a good chance of winning the award for "Least likely to ever learn how to do bl**dy links"
