Ok have done the survey. I do wonder how helpful it will be though.

Which celeb would make you most likely to buy something: Nigella Lawson
Which celeb least likely: Kerry Katona

aloha · 26/07/2007 18:25

I really like the Children's Furniture Company btw - esp the bedlinen. Very nice.

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 18:25

Ah, now I didn't get to chose a Celeb because I said I wouldn't be influenced by them (liar). I chose Jordan I think.

aloha · 26/07/2007 18:32

I was going to put 'no' but then realised I had numerous things in my kitchen endorsed by the fragrant Nigella
I'd probably buy a Nigel Slater pestle and mortar and I buy all manner of things because they come from Cath Kidston.
Emma Bridgewater is another example - I know she makes the stuff, but really I suspect I love it because part of me want to live in a rambling Norfolk rectory with four children!
I'd want my celeb person to actually be involved with the product though, not just be a frontwoman or do the ads

aloha · 26/07/2007 18:33

Elle Macpherson definitely makes me want to buy her underwear, even though it doesn't fit me (except her wonderful maternity bra)
I'd never buy a Cliff Richard endorsed wine!

yup that is what I put too cod

OliviaMumsnet · 26/07/2007 18:38

I am guilty of the Nigella kitchen stuff too - I always hope that my food will look as good as hers because I squeezed the lemons with her citrus squeezer.

And as for Elle MacPherson undies, well a girl can dream!

What brands did you say worked for you? My mind went blank. I think I'm too willing a victim and don't even realize they've worked. I put Waitrose in the end, those nice green lorries and healthy fishermen in their boats.

I put White Company, Bloom (a fantastic fake flower company) and Boden, though actually don't think I really do love Boden's marketing that much, though it clearly works as I buy from them and keep a catalogue on my desk.
Actually the Nigella stuff is marketed beautifully.

MadEyemarthamooDy · 26/07/2007 18:41

I'd fill it in but I really have no place in my life (or my shed) for a Kombi Kart. Can I have a holiday instead?

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2007 18:41

I can't even remember what I put now

something poncey and worthy I think

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2007 18:41

Moo if you win can I have the Kombi Kart? Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?

aloha · 26/07/2007 18:42

ewheilads fkari weheels????

I put M&S because their marketing is RUBBISH
Iceland because it uses Kerry Katona & I can't remember my third.

I do think Waitrose markets itself well. But I never go there because there isn't one nearby.

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 18:43

I put Boden too. I'm going to kill myself. I wish I'd put Agent Provocateur instead.

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2007 18:43

100x I think you are having some kind of breakdown aren't you

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 18:44

Oh Aloha you know, beehives and 'ladies who insure our cars, sheila's wheels are superstars' silky dress, open-top car.

MadEyemarthamooDy · 26/07/2007 18:44

Nah, if I won it my boys would love it...that's why I'm not entering. I'm perverse like that.

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 18:44

Yes Franny. I think I might be.

ahundredtimes · 26/07/2007 18:46

Do you think it unseemly to have a breakdown on an internet talk board? I think it might be.

FrannyandZooey · 26/07/2007 18:47

Nah, not unseemly. Quite post-modern, probably.

Can we help, or shall we just watch?
