There is a thread where the poster is distressed and right next to it is an advert for something related. No way is it there in a helpful way given the issue is causing distress and the OP is NOT asking for useful hints but for productive help.

I currently have ads for the new Dumbo film from Disney. I have never looked it up at all.

I have others for carpet cleaning and for walking boots, none of which I have sought out. It is pretty random.

I'm now getting ads from glam candy or something like that, offering me to study the art of make up part time

I think the gay cruise ads started turning up after I spent too much time in FWR. They're always banging on about penises and dresses over there.

I get a bazillion tea adverts.

I find on a specialist thread the ads can be quite specialist, irrespective of my browsing history- eg on a thread where the OP posted about cracks in her house, I got an ad for surveyors!

Im getting ads for a BoHo Tea, because I bought DD a tea caddy from Betty’s. If only they knew she will only be putting Yorkshire Tea in that caddy.

I did notice when the netflix MM documentary was being discussed I suddenly got a lot of adverts for Mark Warner holidays.

I think everyone gets the Boho tea one (speaking as a non drinker)
