I've just logged into someone else's account, using my own details?

I have no idea how this happened?

I logged in using my usual email address and password, went to TIO and realised I hadn't been on any of the threads in question and the account settings were completely different

Then I realised it was someone else's account? Needless to say I logged straight out. I entered the same details again and now I'm back as me.

For the record, I'm not a name changer and have never heard of the person who I logged in as (see attached pic).

Are you saying you're not the EB who posted a bit earlier (at 07:51:31), but you're someone else?

That's bizarre and seriously worrying, Espresso. So you, the real one, and someone else, through no fault of her own, are both posting on this thread within minutes of each other - while you are still logged in?

Presumably it’s just like logging in on a different device while still being logged in elsewhere?

And this was reported last night! Why hasn’t it already been addressed?

I'd expect some sort of Alert banner as a front page or pop up as soon as you go to log in or post

Happened to me last night. I logged in like usual with my email and PW, posted a couple of times on AIBU only to realise my username was ‘racheylee’. Never had that username on here and when I went to account settings to check if I’d been hacked, it was someone else’s email address . I just logged out quickly and back into mine. Hasn’t happened since.

I’m still me I think but what a scary development. Maybe one of those groups who kept threatening us finally succeeded in hacking the site

The site should have been suspended once this was discovered and until it was fixed. It is a serious data breach. I am disappointed in MNHQ's low key response. It seems risky to remove password protection for name changes too, in these days of cybersecurity breaches, and when members post sensitive data on the site. Must do better, and fast.

This is really bad and doesn't seem to be getting much of a response from MNHQ.

Everyone needs to be logged out and log in suspended for the duration!

It's very concerning that 9 hours after this post was started, people are still reporting that they are being logged in as other people.

Now logged out and in again twice, it has let me back on my own account. By the way, I didn't read any messages but I clicked inbox and it would have allowed me access to the posters private messages! Which means any one of our accounts could be accessed right now by a stranger and every name change/private message can be read! MN should be stopping anyone logging in till it is sorted!
