Mumsnet kills my music

In the middle of a commute... listening to spotify... and I can't turn on mumsnet because every bloody time it turns my music off when ads come up with sound. (Note I don't actually hear the sound... it just turns off my music).

Can you make no noise ads please on the app?

what phones do you all use? I've got an iphone and I noticed another app cut off my music today so I'm wondering if that's linked

It's an iPhone. Mumsnet app has been stopping sounds on three different sources (downcast; iPlayer; music). Haven't noticed this happening when I use any other site or app. Just mumsnet

Is there a particular event in the app that causes it to pause (selecting images, posting to a thread etc) or does it always pause as soon as you open the app?

Still killing my Apple Music when I try to mn as the passenger in the car

For me I just have to open the app, it's not ad triggered

I use the app on iPhone X and lost my ability to listen to music when I open Mumsnet last week.

It also happens when I try and get a boarding pass on ba etc so something must have changed. But not all apps do it

Iphone here. The app kills my music when I open it.

And me- as soon as you open the app. iPhone, using Apple Music.

I just opened mumsnet app and it was fine until I opened a thread that contained (way down the page) the Barts ad (some central London apartments).

Hi guys, thanks for the detail you've given. I was able to reproduce the ad pausing music issue when I found the Barts ad. I've now blocked the Barts ad and I haven't been able to reproduce the issue again.

It's not that satisfying, because I'd rather fix the issue at the root, but I've never seen this happen before, and haven't found a way to fix it properly yet.

If you see the issue again

• Let us know the ad name/url/screenshot
• Try quitting the app and reopening

Still happening for me. It happens as soon as I open the app, doesn't seem to be related to an ads in particular. Still really annoying!

(And closing and reopening app doesn't make any difference)

This is happening to me too. Doesn't appear to be ad related, just opening the app stops my music playing.

Oh this happened to me on Tuesday.

Listening to Spotify then opened the app and music stopped

Yes must be a new ad as it is happening again :)
