Anyone else get this? If I'm browsing the site on my phone if I've come back to my browser from using another app the thread will be all fuzzy and have random black blocks all through it before I refresh.

Simple fix but still annoying. :s

If I was a sceptical person, I'd wonder how much we all meant to Mumsnet compared to their advertisers. Come on, this has been going on for ages.

Thanks for the tip about Opera pp (sorry, I would usually go back to check your username but that's way too risky today). I'll get that and the as blocker installed.

DrMumMum · 22/10/2018 08:28

Ad blocker

prampushingdownthehighst · 22/10/2018 08:35

It's really bad this morning

Blarneybear · 22/10/2018 08:52

It's. The ad with the purple blocks that seems to trigger it

I get racing purple blocks where the ads are when it happens.

PLEASE SORT IT OUT

WarlocksAreLocks · 22/10/2018 08:56

I've now got it on THIS thread. Posts all out of order. If it's m+s I'm buggered as I do look at their site regularly so will get targeted ads

DrMumMum You don't have to install an extra ad-blocker with Opera. It comes that way out of the box.

MyGhoulMumsnet · 22/10/2018 09:24

Hi all, and thanks for all the reports (especially those which include the device, browser and the screenshots - they're a big help to us in trying to replicate and track down what's causing the issue).
Please bear with us a bit longer. The tech team are investigating.
We'll update when we have more news.
Thanks again.
M.

bubbles092 · 22/10/2018 09:31

@MyGhoulMumsnet you are joking? This is actually pathetic. This has been ongoing for weeks! Should've been sorted ages ago.

FlosCampi · 22/10/2018 09:37

Last week I was giving up on threads, today it's so much worse I'm giving up on mumsnet- pity!

WeeDangerousSpike · 22/10/2018 09:44

It's so much worse last night and today, just had to refresh the same page 4 times to read all of it! Then came here to look for an update and it's on here too. And just happened again when I tried to attach the screenshot!

Thanks Only Brew

DropZoneOne · 22/10/2018 11:07

@OnlyGlowingSlightly

Thanks for the Opera tip, have switched over to that for Mumsnet browsing for the time being.

Last night was ridiculous, the black boxes appeared so often it was taking as much time to refresh the page as read the posts.

WarlocksAreLocks · 22/10/2018 11:29

Today I tried to highlight a couple of words to search. The whole page went blank. There was an m+s ad at the top. Samsung s8, chrome

Why not disable the M&S ad once you've connected some diagnostic information? If indeed anyone is actually looking into this now.

LizzieMumsnet · 22/10/2018 12:50

Hi All,

Firstly, we apologise that this issue has taken a long time to resolve.

We have been trying to replicate the problem and unfortunately, we have been unable to.

However, we have a couple of things to try which might help to solve the problem.
Firstly, please could you try clearing your cache and post below to let us know if this resolves it?
Here are some instructions on how to clear your cache.

Again, apologies for the inconvenience.

Galvantula · 22/10/2018 13:00

Nope :(

Cleared my cache and a few threads later the black bits are back.

bastardkitty · 22/10/2018 13:06

Had already tried this. No help. It's not very good, is it?

DappledThings · 22/10/2018 13:12

Hmmm. Mine seems ok again and I've not done anything with the cache. Weird

Mazanda · 22/10/2018 13:31

Still having issue

Topseyt · 22/10/2018 14:15

I've cleared the cache several times and just did it again.

The issue is still there and if anything is getting worse.

TeddyIsaHe · 22/10/2018 14:17

You all need Adblock. Stops it from happening completely. Makes mn much easier to use.

I’m more than happy to pay for a ad-free version MNHQ! But without Adblock it renders the site unusable.

SilverHairedCat · 22/10/2018 14:24

I never understand when Tech say they can't replicate the problem.

Are the techs logged in as normal users, on standard smartphones, using Chrome? Because it's such an enormous issue I can't see how no-one can see this at your end. 🤔

Have you blocked the M&S advert from the website yet? We know you can do that, as you've done it for other irksome content covering ads in the past from other companies and done it very quickly....

AGHHHH · 22/10/2018 14:27

Sorry did someone say something?

I have cleared cache and have an ad blocker still getting them same issue.

AGHHHH · 22/10/2018 14:29

I also find it strange that tech hasn't been able to replicate it at all in the past fortnight since it's been reported, it's happening on popular browsers on popular phones, with 200 replies to the thread.

Weird!
