Fancy being a Mumsnet Local Tsar? (or should that be Tsarina?)

Are you the source of all local knowledge and gossip? We're looking to recruit committed Mumsnetters to take charge of each Mumsnet local site. The role involves galvanising other local Mumsnetters to make your section as up to date, full of listings and useful as possible, editing new postings for accuracy and checking out new places for possible inclusion.
It's a voluntary post but you can make as much (or as little) of it as you like, stick it on your CV if that would help and/or share it with another Mumsnetter if you're worried about time commitments. If it sounds like something you?d be interested in, sign up here and we'll send you some more info.

If the area you'd like to cover isn't mentioned, please feel free to add it in the "other" box at the bottom.

Thanks
MNHQ

Okies, I'll do it for Cumbria as I know how useful these things can be. We are always looking for things to do on a weekend and places to go. I did do an extensive list for Preston when I was Netmums editor there - I researched every child-friendly pub myself I'll have you know!

Send me the info and I'll get cracking.

(I would love to win a competition too!)

tigermoth · 11/06/2007 20:22

I've sent you a form Carrie, but need to email you as well. I have good local knowledge, especially regarding school age children (my job helps keep me updated as well).

But I am short of time so can't be a big lot of use (only a small lot of use).

milkchocolate · 11/06/2007 20:27

I filled in the form, I used to this for Netmums in my past NM existence... lol

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 20:28

Oh, there's a form?

NikkiBFG · 11/06/2007 20:31

I filled in the form and am polishing my steel capped boots and testing my whip on DH as we speak....oohhh....the power!!

littlepicklesmum · 11/06/2007 20:33

Have filled in the form too, will speak to minxysmum and see if she'll share it?

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 20:35

Just wondering. Can you stay anonymous if you want to? Or will people know that I live in that area if I sign up to be the Tzar?

Nymphadora · 11/06/2007 21:00

I'll help Rhubarb if she wants and cover South Cumbria?

carriemumsnet on Mon 11-Jun-07 12:43:42 (from MNHQ) -Is this new or didn't I see before?

Nymphadora · 11/06/2007 21:00

(MRSWHO BTW)

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 21:02

I'm doing Carlisle, so mebbe you can do Kendal or whatever?

Where are you from? Just out of curiosity.

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 21:03

Bollocks! There's me asking about anonymity and I've just given away where I bloody well live!

Why not just throw in the town and street too Rhubs? Jeez!

fortyplus · 11/06/2007 21:06

Oh God... I could've so done this a few years ago if I'd known about MN!

When ds2 had his 3 year check my HV insisted on coming to my house to do it, then spent about 2 hours chatting about activities & good days out for her 4 yo twin grandchildren who were coming to stay for a week. When she finished her 3rd cup of coffee and got up to go I asked her wasn't she going to do the check? She said @Don't worry - I can see he's very bright!' and off she went!

OliviaMumsnet · 11/06/2007 21:07

Hello MrsWho - the from MNHQ bit is new yes. It's to ensure everyone knows who's genuinely from Mumsnet Towers as there's been a lot of rather mischievous namechanging of late.

Rhubarb, Carrie is probably better placed to answer than me but I was going to say hat it is unlikely that people taking on "tsar qualities" will be able to stay anonymous - but given you've just blown your own cover...

Marina · 11/06/2007 21:08

tigermoth, maybe you and I can put our heads together on our local patch I've offered to help out too and there may be more of us (Maureen perhaps?)

Boco · 11/06/2007 21:14

Wow so Rhubarb, you're Tzar of Cumbria, and in charge of all the Catholic children?

Califrau, you get to be Tzar of the Rest of the World!

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 21:20

Did I say I was catholic? Obviously I'm Jewish!

GreebosWhiskers · 11/06/2007 21:21

You don't cover where I live so I've filled in the form & added it to the bottom

Nymphadora · 11/06/2007 21:22

I am in Barrow Rhubarb, I knew where you were anyway [stalker emoticon]

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 21:23
lulumama · 11/06/2007 21:25

Marina · 11/06/2007 21:25

We all know where you live my dear

Boco · 11/06/2007 21:25

I promise not to stalk you Rhubarb, I clicked on your profile and screamed with cold terror, it would never work out.

Rhubarb · 11/06/2007 21:28

What's the Bowder Stone?

You all have bloody good memories then! I'm wondering whether or not I should move now!

Huh!
