Advanced search on an iPad - choosing topics

How are you meant to choose specific topics to search for?

I’m sure it used to work - you’d select topics from a list on the left and move them to the link used” list on the right. Ridiculously cumbersome but it used to work. For ages (and I mean ages!) now you’ve not been able to move the chosen topics over to the “included” list. Am I missing something?

If you’re missing something I am as well. It’s a PITA if you know what section the thread you are looking for is in.

I think I saw a thread in site stuff recently where more than one poster complained that the search facility had changed. I'll try find it.

It's not about the same thing Soup but mn stated AS has been 'broken' for some time

This bit has been broken for aaaaages. More than the months mentioned in that other thread. Possible longer than a year. I can’t remember when it last worked.

There’s also the issue when you click on a search result and get the “oops we can’t find that” message.

Interesting that it’s broken in other ways recently though.

I got my iPad 14/15 months ago and I don’t think it’s ever worked. I don’t know when I tried to use it to advance search a topic though. Definitely before the start of this year though.

Hi SoupDragon, we've not forgotten about this issue - we've chased Tech to find out what's going on with AS and we'll come back to you as soon as possible.

To be fair, it has been broken for years and no one has mentioned it... it’s just mildly irritating 😂

I don’t remember it ever working on an iPad, and I’ve had one since 2010...

I do remember it working but it was a long time ago.

Thanks! What happens when you try and move topics? Is it just not clicky?

Nothing happens. I can mark the topics with a tick but the “move” button does nothing. I think it’s clickable but does nothing - it’s difficult to tell!

TBH, I don’t understand why you need to “move” them at all. Just selecting them should be enough, surely?

Having tried just now, I don’t think it is clickable.

Also, the list of topics seems to vanish when one is selected.

On an unrelated note, sometimes I use advanced search and the entire page of results is unclickable, including all standard links.
