So how do we all feel about having Burger King banners?

Hello, hello,

Burger King have been in contact to ask us to pitch for some of their banner dvertising business due in September (not sponorship mind). We have Macdonalds on our banned list because of global domination, Mclibel and issues to do with their suppliers (Fast food nation critique) - it's not really about their products as such.

So our instinct is that BK is OK and we can try and relieve them of some cash...

But what thinkest you, MNetters, about the prospect of being confronted by someone eating a flame-grilled sausage sandwich - would you all flee in horror?

I'd hate it. Because I'll want one everytime I see it. For the same reasons I hope Chipbutty changes her name soon!!

No problem with it, even though we don't have a nearby BK. (McD's we do have, it seems there's no getting away from them even in the sticks).

mylittlestar · 24/05/2007 11:03

It's only an advert. Doesn't mean you have to go and buy it!

It will make MN some money. So why not?

It's hardly like MN will have a banner underneath the add saying "to all parents, please go out and buy this lovely nutritious food for your children. highly recommended by MN towers"...
It up to parents what they decide and how to feed their children.

To say it would make you 'flee' is a bit OTT. IMO!

Not Bovvered.

You may have to start paying for gym membership for your greedier members, though.

Don't let them put it on the weightloss forum!

kittypants · 24/05/2007 11:06

i wouldnt want it.
unhealthy and were veggie so why should i have to look at a burger when i log in?(unless its chips)

colditz · 24/05/2007 11:07

does the pepperoni on the pizza bother you then?

Marne · 24/05/2007 11:08

I've got nothing again'st fast food i just don't understant the people that feed their kids on it 3 times a week

I like BK but only eat it once a month at the most.

HuwEdwards · 24/05/2007 11:10

Mumsnet - fill yer boots!

kittypants · 24/05/2007 11:11

yes it does

morningpaper · 24/05/2007 11:12

It's only an advert

Mind you I have been eating Petit Filous all week since that sponsored email

They do such LOVELY Beanburgers whereas McD's are unspeakable

I rather like BK

Not been in one for years

Maybe I should

Kathyis6incheshigh · 24/05/2007 11:15

We went to one and were disappointed.
The floor was dirty and they hadn't got all the food in stock. We kept saying 'Ooh, Macdonalds would never be like that.'

Hathor · 24/05/2007 11:17

Another example of morals corrupted by money methinks.

wouldn;t bother me - I don't think BK have targeted kids to the same degree that McD's did/do. And wouldn't have a problme with it anyway - you will find objections to virtually any advertiser who can afford to advertise wholesale on the internet.

Chugnuts · 24/05/2007 11:19

Will MNers get any BK discounts?

gess · 24/05/2007 11:19

ds2 says the toys aren't as good as at McD's, but he never eats his burger wherever we buy it (insists on getting it though). Personally I think BK tastes much better. Go for it.

Dogsby · 24/05/2007 11:21

Carmenere · 24/05/2007 11:27

I hardly ever look at the ads on here however I don't think there is much difference between McD's and BK. I would prefer BK though.

Otter · 24/05/2007 11:29
