The next time you send an email about a poster to that poster by mistake. Probably best not to refer to your users as 'these people'

MN bat

I agree regarding reviewing the troll policy - and after having had a sneak peek over at Reddit, this is coming from someone who has been accused of being a troll herself [on Reddit not here - sort of feel strangely flattered in an absurd way]. However, if MNHQ had got in touch with me due to reports or concerns, I would gladly have spoken to them and verified anything they needed to know if I could - I think it's really important that if a lot of posters are reporting or expressing a concerns, that there shouldn't be a wait for a certain amount of evidence, especially in the case of threads where people are offering a lot of support, time, even money and other supplies.

I know people should ensure that they are being careful, but it's difficult when you believe someone is genuine and really want to offer them support. I'm on a couple of antenatal threads and was on a miscarriage thread last year and the support was absolutely invaluable to me last year - it would be a shame if people stopped being as compassionate etc because of this problem with trolls.

Loving that bat!

LadyDeadpool · 25/08/2017 18:15

May as well post this here since it will save you the effort of going onto reddit to be offended.
Some words of advice for some users on here who can't see the forest for the trees.
People in a position of power shouldn't use that power to belittle and bitch about the people who put them there. A little respect for the people who built the site up into what it is and are just sick and tired of seeing obvious trolls receive special treatment because it goes viral and brings in some ad revenue.

Where is the next thread link, when get to 40 someone always make new thread

MsGameandWatching · 25/08/2017 18:19

I'm aware of the full story with Stratters and she's not a troll. I'm quite surprised at that assertion actually, when as most of us know, she's been posting for years in a decent way, often the voice of reason. Do people just suddenly up and change like that? Or is it far more likely there's been something quite unpleasant that's damaged her relationship with MN? Just common sense really to consider that isn't it?

SoNouveau · 25/08/2017 18:20

I love that bat too but it's been usurped by a cockroach.

MadMags · 25/08/2017 18:23

Seems to me like @JustineMumsnet is grasping at straws to get rid of someone whom she views as a pain in the arse.

Disingenuous yet again...

Nothing changes, and on it goes...

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 25/08/2017 18:24

I don't know the full story but agree with you MsGameandWatching. I've been on MN for about the same amount of time as Stratters and have always found her to be a straightforward, decent poster. No way is she a troll. Just no way.

SoNouveau · 25/08/2017 18:24

Agree entirely with MsGameandWatching.
People don't just change for no good reason and it looks like the GFs have won.
For now.

MsGameandWatching · 25/08/2017 18:25

It's spin and as evidenced some on this thread fall for it. Hopefully more won't than will though.

Salmotrutta · 25/08/2017 18:26

Very true LadyDradpool - I'm agog that MNHQ would discuss Stratters supposed posting history like that.

And lie get it wrong as well...

But then again it's all going a bit pear shaped on here now just like MrsVamos says.

MrsVamos your post made me cry. What a sad state of affairs. Folks like you make this place.

Stratters - I've alway thought she was down to earth and spot on. Definitely not a troll.

Shit. Sorry.

BackieJerkhart · 25/08/2017 18:27

I have to say, I was wondering if there is something personal between Justine and Stratters. Maybe not but it definitely feels that way. It's certainly more than just customer service complaints.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/08/2017 18:28

For me, MN's greatest strength has always been its members - their humour, intelligence, knowledge, supportiveness, and care for others - something which has always applied to Stratters, in my experience.

I fear MN is changing. It is not about the members any more - it feels more and more as if our only value to MNHQ is in the revenue they can get by selling advertising - basically selling us as the audience for the advertisers.

I have never been a big fan of the "I remember when it were all fields here, MN has changed, and not for the better" threads - I always believed that change was inevitable, and that, in general, the changes didn't affect the core of MN, its mission (By parents, for parents - their words, it mine), but that is no longer the case, in my opinion.

MsGameandWatching · 25/08/2017 18:29

yet another "you're all so pathetic!" comment from you. Brilliant.

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 25/08/2017 18:30

MrsVamos's post deserves an upvote/like Smile

ScrambledSmegs · 25/08/2017 18:31

I agree, MsGame.

Thanks MrsVamos. I'm so sorry that you felt like you couldn't/wouldn't get support on MN.
