I often don't realise I have misspelled something until I read it in context with the thread. The preview does not help with this either.
I itch to correct myself and I can't be alone in that surely?

Please show the thread title in preview when creating a new thread! So many messed up titles and such an easy fix for loads of them.

I don't want one. It'll encourage snarky shits to demand people change their words/spelling/grammar, the disingenuous goady fuckers will abuse it, the site would be ballsed up for weeks while it's implemented.

I hate making spelling mistakes too but it doesn't bother me at all in other posters so I recognise that it's healthy to accept I'm human and make mistakes. Nobody judges typos and an over zealous auto correct.

Today I have posted that I've made a vag of chilli and advised someone to chat up midwife. While the ability to edit would be great in some ways it could make threads very hard to follow if lots of people can go back and change what they've written.

Edit history would take care of any discrepancies in a story. It would be the new way...we'd have a 'you edited' emoticon and an edit history to view option. No one would get away with it.

The rest of the internet manages somehow with an edit button but for some reason on here there's a huge conspiracy that people would be rewriting all sorts! Please give us an edit function with some sort of edit history viewable.
