Shiny new thread.

Hopefully won't get derailed.

Moz they won't reply tonight. You can report in the night watch. They do need to sit down and have a policy on disablism instead of responding when things like this happen. It needs to be nipped in the bud at the first post.

crashdoll · 18/10/2016 22:16

What? I am! I've been here for yonks, posting lots about my disability and my job.

BishopBrennansArse · 18/10/2016 22:16

Waitrose - go away.

OP posts:
WaitrosePigeon · 18/10/2016 22:17

Sorry Bishop, you don't get to tell people where they can post.

I've reported everything that I feel is against the guidelines and everyone else should do the same.

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 22:17

They're not going to nip it in the bid. See Rebecca's post for their reasoning.

Mozfan1 · 18/10/2016 22:18

Sorry crash all the posting got confusing- so no more news from HQ?

BishopBrennansArse · 18/10/2016 22:18

Me and two others.
This isn't the Waitrose show.

OP posts:
Hateloggingin · 18/10/2016 22:18

There was no need to come and post nasty shit on this thread where posters were trying to talk about disabillist language etc.

You've not covered yourselves in glory.

Sorry I'm just checking I and when I last looked st this thread it was still being extremely informative, educational and supportive.
Now I'm looking st the last few posts and the previous thread is being referred to? With the issue that got the last thread deleted?
Not fair.
MNHQ - please stop this thread getting deleted - this isn't fair.
Waitrose, I havent read all your posts on that thread but your concerns were dealt with in the last thread by MNHQ.
It's not fair to ask them to deal with it on this thread too.
As pointed out to you previously, there are important issues at stake.
I appreciate they are it important to you.
However I and all the other posters here are just as important as you. And it's not fair to take the focus away from the very serious issue that effects us.
You received a lot of support on the last thread.
But this isn't fair.

With so many posters who have first hand experience dealing with disability, surely it would be easy enough for HQ to work with users to devise hard and fast rules as to what is and isn't appropriate with regards to what people post when talking about disability. Why is it so difficult?!

Well, i was going to come on here to say that i felt you were a little over the top on the other thread.. while there were some glaring examples of disablism, i felt Umbongo's comment was taken totally out of context and she didn't deserve the attack she got for it.

But as you all seem to have descended into childish sniping and PA's, i'm fucking off out of here all together.

This isn't becoming of any one.

Have fun being vile to each other i'm done.

We've been handed to them on a plate by that statement from Rebecca and we are fucked now. Seriously we might as well put a sign on this thread.

CandyMcJingles · 18/10/2016 22:25

MNHQ if you are going to delete this thread TOI, please can you email me and reassure me that the very useful points on disablism on this thread Have at least been noted and will be used to form policy and guidance for all MNetters?

UmbongoUnchained · 18/10/2016 22:26

I apologise for my comments upthread but it's pretty upsetting that's I'm not "disabled enough" to have an opinion that counts.
And leave Waitrose alone she's clearly having an fucking wank time of things. Think we can cut her some slack!

WaitrosePigeon · 18/10/2016 22:26

Candy I like what you post. You talk a lot of sense Smile

I don't need MN to address what's happening to me but I do want them to address the Personal Attacks/inflammatory posts which I'm sure they will - like I said in the other thread, everyone needs to be nicer to each other for anyone to learn anything.

If anyone feels I have posted anything that breaks the guidlines please report and I would be happy to hold my hands up and apologise.

Tensions are running high for everyone, without the digs too...

WaitrosePigeon · 18/10/2016 22:27

Thanks Umbongo x

Ausernotanumber · 18/10/2016 22:28

I'm not disabled. My child who isn't a child any more is. And that child wil, likely be one of those window lickers singing annoyances in a home that no body wants it live next to driving down house prices.

Which, of course, now according to HQ is not Disablism.

How can they not see it?

BishopBrennansArse · 18/10/2016 22:28

The other thread... I was holding my judgment as to begin with as it could easily refer to criminality. The breaking point for me (and I didn't actually contribute to it, you can check) was the sentiments that people working with disabled children wouldn't want to live next door to disabled people. Because they are disabled.

That IS disablist. I can see why people were upset about that.

OP posts:
Mozfan1 · 18/10/2016 22:29

Auser Flowers

Not much to add, just disapointed HQ aren't listening tbh. We can but try...
