Site diverting to irrelevant gaming(?) app.

Surely it's not just on my phone? Innocently scrolling through any old thread, with no advert in the middle of the page, I'm suddenly confronted with a huge advert. Clicking to delete it just takes me to an apps thing.

Why is it happening?

This is still happening. It's really annoying and I'm sure it's contravening some sort of advertising standards as it's diverting me to the App Store to get crap I do not want ie SkyBet, William hill, there is no warning and it diverts when you close the pop up.
Please can you get rid of it!

Screenshot of the pop-up. When you try to click on the giant grey x in the top right corner it diverts you away instead. The Ad team did some tweaking on Friday but it seems that has not helped. We'll be raising again with them now.
