Can we have a new rule, please, that UserName987654321987654321 has to

namechange before they post a new thread.

Because I'm getting confused. There are so many people with UserName in their UserName that I'm in danger of being extremely rude to one of them mixing them up and thinking a new one is an old one or a previously banned one.

I am old and confused.

I think they have to take the name allocated to them when they register, for some reason, but could they not be auto-sked to namechange before posting? Pretty please.

Yes please! It gets too confusing with multiple "username" followed by numbers on so many threads. I too have nearly been a bit blunt with the wrong "username".

ALemonyPea · 09/06/2016 15:14

Or maybe can only post in the newbie bit until they have a proper nickname?

ClashCityRocker · 09/06/2016 15:18

I thought username7483927161639 was having a very dramatic life lately....didn't clock they were all different!

They're all "username14....."

Pisses me right off. I think it should be that you can't post under this temporary app username drivel or whatever it is and you can only post when you've verified your email and renamed.

My opinion is that having a nn like this, with a long random sequence of numbers is designed to obfuscate. As a result I don't read the post. I might well be unfair, but it is how I feel.

So is this username bullshit generated by MNHQ at the point of signing up? If so, then I agree with the OP

I also agree with Lemony, new posters should only be allowed to post in the newbie section until otherwise promoted by a select group of royalty users Grin

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 09/06/2016 15:29

I got horribly confused with username 123456789098765432 who has six children and two dogs and username1234567898987654321 who is 24.
Kept thinking how is this ever possible, esp the dogs....

Please name change to something sensible. Even PrettyMummy or LovelyMum6 will do.

Sorry Maryz, your post had quite a negative tone to it, imo - but that's what I mean, you may not have meant it in a negative way it was just the way I read it.

The talk of not knowing who you were reporting, or whether someone was a pbp or a troll - just jumped out to me that you had a negative view of this board.

Like I said, it's the way I read it. I don't mean to be inflammatory

Think I should bugger off now, I don't normally get sucked into conversations - I normally just post and move on Smile

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 09/06/2016 15:38

Usernameblahblah makes me think it's a troll who's so damn EXCITED about trolling they can't wait to think of a username that isn't shit first

like little kids jumping in the pool when they haven't got their swimmers on yet

Oh I know!

Can we at least have them in different colour options to tell them apart?

Username12345678900987654321 can be green and username12345678901234567890 can choose between neon pink and orange.

deVelvet · 09/06/2016 15:45

Good point well made Maryz.

And my eyes blurred at all the usernamenumberingbullshittery.

You got me!

and you're the first person I've had a conversation with in years

MistressMerryWeather · 09/06/2016 15:48

I just realised that I thought 'Usename14489534795746-whatever' was one person.

Of course their not. Blush

MistressMerryWeather · 09/06/2016 15:48

I don't read the numbers.

DustyBustle · 09/06/2016 15:57

I have just had a proper lol at your 15.38 post. Grin

VenusRising · 09/06/2016 15:57

I though usernameblahblahblah was the same person as the other usernameblahblahblah.

Why can we have multiple users of "username" (independent of the numbers)?

TBH I thought they were all hairy truckers seagulled in from the daily mail, and I ignore their posts as they seem flamey.
