A number of us here have a love of pen porn and wanted to know if there was a grubby little corner you could stick us into??

And if MN wanted to create special personalised pens for us as well we will love you forever...

Dolly - about the only thing I don't have is a binding machine. Even I can't think of a use for one or justify one. However, I do have a long arm stapler which is very useful.

AtiaoftheJulii · 28/04/2016 18:06

I had a long arm stapler which I did find very useful. It eventually died, and I've never replaced it. Do you think I should? Grin

PigeonPie · 28/04/2016 18:09

Aria, I'm assuming that's a rhetorical question Grin

PigeonPie · 28/04/2016 18:10

Silly auto correct Atia

SoupDragon · 28/04/2016 18:30

We didn't have a long armed stapler when DD needed to make a booklet for homework so I taught her how to stitch it like a proper section of book Blush

PerspicaciaTick · 28/04/2016 18:45

My most satisfying piece of equipment is a punch which cuts out a perfect miniature envelope. Just right for tooth fairy letters. And, of course, I had to buy some very fine nib pens to write letters small enough to fit.

DollyTwat · 28/04/2016 18:53

If you have no stapler you can bind instead! I once bound one of ds1's school books as he'd ruined it. I had to laminate the front covers as well. It was done in a panic I might add, but the results were good!

I have no normal day to day reason to own a binding machine. I just wanted one. An envelope cutter sounds like something I might NEED

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 28/04/2016 20:28

Pencils
Lots of different types of pens
Labels
Label printers
Other printers
Guillotines and paper trimmers
Laminators
Sellotape dispensers
Rulers
Files and folders

I have all of these, plus this little beauty Paper clipper - it binds up to 40 sheets with tight fitting but removable and reusable clips. I took one into work and the whole office ended up getting them.

No binding machine though. But we have got one at work.

AtiaoftheJulii · 28/04/2016 20:32

Soup that is class!

I'll tell you a secret - my dd works in Staples. I should definitely use her 30% discount to buy a new stapler Wink

My dad has a comb binder, but he lives 200 miles away. I blame him for my stationery love, btw. He can't resist a notebook, and is always looking for the perfect pen. Did you inherit your pensexuality, or did you develop it later?

CrazyDuchess · 29/04/2016 11:09

MNHQ - I think we have made it abundantly clear that a cupboard space is needed given that we have pretty much been at the top of Site Stuff since we posted this thread and not due to my constant commentary

There is a huge following on here - we need a safe space to discuss pens, binders, hole punchers and long armed staplers!!!

My fellow pensexuals and I implore you to consider this request quickly....... please Grin

WhoKnows you have educated me today!! I never knew page clippers existed Blush

I think I love you a little bit

Seeyounearertime · 29/04/2016 11:12

Maybe MNHQ are Stationerphobes?
Grin

CrazyDuchess · 29/04/2016 11:14

Ohhhhh nooooo no no - I have it on good authority that PresidentOlivia and Iona are fellow pensexuals although I would bet my last ink cartridge that they all have a love of a crisp A5 journals and a free flowing broad nib Blush

FloatyFlo · 29/04/2016 11:38

Perspicacia

That sounds amazing! Where can I get one?!

Seeyounearertime · 29/04/2016 12:12

Mini envelope punch? I assume it's like this one:

They look so cool.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 29/04/2016 12:16

WhoKnowsWherethetimeg0es

Great!
That's a label maker and paper clipper. I'm thinking of colour coding all my document holders, in tray, and files too.

Paperblank · 29/04/2016 13:03

Ooh! Ooh! I have one of those page clipper yokes!!

It's fab Grin although I got in HUGE trouble got buying it. I basically annihilated the department stationery budget in one go. I didn't know that there was a budget.

I was on tea making duties for months!

CrazyDuchess · 29/04/2016 13:04

Paperblank that is hilarious Grin

OP posts:
PerspicaciaTick · 29/04/2016 13:06

That's the baby Seeyou thanks. It sort of indents the fold lines as well as cutting the edges.

Paperblank · 29/04/2016 14:01

Crazy my boss didn't think so Grin In my defence, I had only been there a few weeks, and I needed some comb binders.

Foolishly he did just hand me the stationery catalogue, gave me the account number and budget code, and told me to get what I needed was so excited I did a little wee

Well, many happy hours later I submitted my order... new pen pot? Check. Pink neon stapler? Check? Funky pens? Check! Check!

It was like Christmas when it arrived Grin It was shortly after when I was handed the boring approved list of items by a jealous colleague. And it was shortly after that, that my boss went loopy at the fact that I'd spent £200 on "f*ing paperclips!"

How are you supposed to operate when you are only allowed to order £100 worth of stationery a year? Ridiculous!

PS. I hadn't actually bought paperclips I just bought two of those page clippers...

CrazyDuchess · 29/04/2016 14:04

Paperblank your explanation only made me laugh harder! Grin

PigeonPie · 29/04/2016 15:15

Paperblank Grin

Right now come on MNHQ - we are showing that the Stationery Cupboard is definitely needed.

People need to know about the best label printers, laminators, pens etc and they need experienced Stationers like the Duchess and me Grin

stealthsquiggle · 29/04/2016 15:34

I so need one of those mini envelope punches. Going on my wish list now.

I'm not sure I do want anyone to tell me what the best label maker is, though, because I bought myself one that I haven't had a chance to play with yet and I don't want to know that I chose the wrong one.

Come on, Olivia and Iona - this democracy nonsense is overrated, you know.

I wonder what the MNHQ stationery budget is? More than £100, I bet..

Jubaloo442 · 29/04/2016 17:42

I bought a Japanese stapler that doesn't use staples - it sort of folds the paper in an intricate way. One of my students had one and I shamelessly asked where he got it. Life hasn't been the same since. I love it.

SlinkyVagabond · 29/04/2016 18:33

Oh I've got one of them! Just the baby one. But I've bought the mummy one for dds 18th. So she stops nicking mine. I bought a harinacs sharpener-that lasted a day before she "borrowed" it.
