A moan about a thread deletion

Sorry to be a bit over-invested in what was just random chat. Chippednailvarnish's thread was fun though. I know it started off as "why are there so many first time posters posting dodgy threads", which could be seen as policing who can or cannot start a thread. But if that was beyond the pale, it should have been zapped immediately. It developed into a fun thread. Quite a few of MNHQ posts, too. It was allowed to stand all evening and all morning and then went. Yes, there were a couple of minor arguments, one got dissolved last night, before and during some of HQ's posts.

There were so many people on there. The deleting of a jocular comment was already weird, the "victim" of that joke said she got the joke, no problem, it's funny. It wasn't grand politics. What was it then? The discussion over fuck to rhyme with duck or look? Or troll-doll, troll-foal? Even this morning peace broke out over a frozen shoulder after a short argument.

It really makes me feel censored. Not because it was so important, but because it was such trivial fun and got zapped.

Why do I always miss amazing deleted threads?

NeedACleverNN · 15/04/2016 11:03

Didn't she call you a see you next Thursday dixie?

Because you disagreed with her half baked human theory

Chippednailvarnish · 15/04/2016 11:06

*Why do I always miss amazing deleted threads?

The deleted threads I have seen in the last 24 hours have actually been deeply unpleasant. I still think the number of name changes should be by each user name.

Seems to be a number of 18 year olds on here. Maybe I was just drunken partying, kebab scoffing slob at 18, but a parenting website was the last place you would find me!

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2016 13:25

The weird thing is not that they are 18 but they have to announce it. Why?

A while back there were teenagers posting in the Teenagers topic. One wanted to know if we had any questions about teenagers and others because they were teenagers. And there was me thinking the topic was for parents of teenagers.

Chippednailvarnish · 15/04/2016 13:37

Because in reality they're 15 Grin

Haven't read the whole thread and wasn't part of the one under discussion. Just wanted to say I rarely report posts because a) it's pathetic and b) I think if someone has been very rude it's best for it to stay so other posters can see. However I have reported some, and been turned down, which as annoyed me as they definitely broke the talk guidelines. I didn't lose any sleep over it! Someone from MNHQ said it was a "close call" but they usually deleted anything that said "you are a (something nasty)

Recently posts on the MH tread are being deleted because they are being honest and the OP doesn't like honesty. I am pretty sure the one I've just posted will be deleted. And those deleted comments stand out SO much - it's like the "hall of shame" - wish they could be a bit less obvious. Oh god it's like being back at school isn't it..................................?

You naughty girl Maryz.
I saw your posts actually and though you were remarkably restrained. I do feel that the trolls are winning at the moment.
