A moan about a thread deletion

Sorry to be a bit over-invested in what was just random chat. Chippednailvarnish's thread was fun though. I know it started off as "why are there so many first time posters posting dodgy threads", which could be seen as policing who can or cannot start a thread. But if that was beyond the pale, it should have been zapped immediately. It developed into a fun thread. Quite a few of MNHQ posts, too. It was allowed to stand all evening and all morning and then went. Yes, there were a couple of minor arguments, one got dissolved last night, before and during some of HQ's posts.

There were so many people on there. The deleting of a jocular comment was already weird, the "victim" of that joke said she got the joke, no problem, it's funny. It wasn't grand politics. What was it then? The discussion over fuck to rhyme with duck or look? Or troll-doll, troll-foal? Even this morning peace broke out over a frozen shoulder after a short argument.

It really makes me feel censored. Not because it was so important, but because it was such trivial fun and got zapped.

Yes I could do. Or he might get some mates round and bicker with them. Hmm So far he hasn't any plans for the weekend he's sat on his bed yelling down the headset on PS4.

paxillin · 15/04/2016 20:56

Offer him a fiver to go to his friends' houses instead.

No 18yos here yet. I do envy you because of the freedom that brings, even if I dread the worry at 4am.

I'm bored. DH is out with his mates, kids in bed. Mind you, I have wine, sausages and Netflix. Kids too old to cry at night. Could be worse. But I'm bored.

Oh I hate the being on standby thing Maryz. DS1 often likes the idea of staying overnight at parties then changed his mind and the pitiful text arrives about having a lift home.

I have done many a late night/early morning drive into the sticks with a post code and the satnav. Sad

Hope your DS has an uneventful evening.

Chippednailvarnish · 15/04/2016 21:57

Mine are still arguing over which PowerRangers they are. I have all this to come!

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2016 22:00

When my two were little I remember thinking about one day they would be teenagers, and getting really worried because i had no idea how to parent teenagers.
I reassured myself that when the time came I would know what to do.

Nope.

I'm often out foxed by my four year old, another 10 years and I'll be fucked. Grin

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2016 22:07

I am not sure what I thought would happen in the ten years between having a 6 and 4 year olds and now TBH.

I have one laid back chilled character and one everything is a huge drama one. And yet I brought them up exactly the same. Angry

paxillin · 15/04/2016 22:27

I actually really like the ten years between 6 and 16. The bit of parenting I found really hard to do is 2-4, especially the later part. The constant nonsense arguments... full speech aged 4, little reasoning and loud so loud. The attention span of a fruit fly and the constant need to be entertained. 2yos need this, too, but they are entertained by bubbles or a bus ride. Teens or even 7yos make me wonder where this interesting person came from.

I was going to post cake photos, but it makes me hungry...

paxillin · 15/04/2016 23:04

I can't find a random nonsense thread tonight. The nice thread is quite, well, nice. Even if it has naked balls.

You could start taking bets Maryz Power.

paxillin · 15/04/2016 23:26

Competition? First one to sniff out 10 subsequently deleted threads. Deletion message must be no earlier than 9am on Monday, 18th April (to make sure nobody has a head start).
