A moan about a thread deletion

Sorry to be a bit over-invested in what was just random chat. Chippednailvarnish's thread was fun though. I know it started off as "why are there so many first time posters posting dodgy threads", which could be seen as policing who can or cannot start a thread. But if that was beyond the pale, it should have been zapped immediately. It developed into a fun thread. Quite a few of MNHQ posts, too. It was allowed to stand all evening and all morning and then went. Yes, there were a couple of minor arguments, one got dissolved last night, before and during some of HQ's posts.

There were so many people on there. The deleting of a jocular comment was already weird, the "victim" of that joke said she got the joke, no problem, it's funny. It wasn't grand politics. What was it then? The discussion over fuck to rhyme with duck or look? Or troll-doll, troll-foal? Even this morning peace broke out over a frozen shoulder after a short argument.

It really makes me feel censored. Not because it was so important, but because it was such trivial fun and got zapped.

I also wish it was broken.

For me, doll, moll, toll, dole, and goal are all homophones.

As are pear, peer, pair, pier, and pare.

I might be a Kiwi

There you go, this thread has scientifically proven that there are linguistic similarities between Essex, my Scottish granny and New Zealand.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 13/04/2016 20:13

Me too Maryz wonder if they are the same ones Grin

I only have threads I started on my watch list. Do you put anything iffy on there? I feel a bit like listening on a wall adding stuff I don't contribute to on my watch list.. I am aware that that's not rational.

I do have an ambition that I can have all the threads that I'm on showing deletion messages.
It was just a pipe dream, but lately it's looking possible

over invested

Was the thread in question one where a poster was criticising posters for reminiscing how men was better before penis beaker?

MrsVamos · 13/04/2016 20:51

Hello, usual

I missed this news. You and Sparks in a ship ?

Wow.

Let me guess. One or both of you has fake babies.

member · 13/04/2016 20:51

Penis beaker might not have been mentioned, might have just been "Ye olde dayes "

OrangesandLemonsNow · 13/04/2016 20:52

Can't beat a bit of shipping Grin

BastardGoDarkly · 13/04/2016 20:55

Ooooo Chipped I got it right! They told me 9 months to fix, I did my physio exercises religiously, and was sorted in 3 :) I nearly had a froth about the leaflet being pictures of a woman doing exercises holding a mop Hmm but I gave my head a wobble and got the mop out.

So do you call your supermarket trolleys troalies?
