"Message invalid"

For the last couple of days I've been getting an occasional 'Message invalid' when I try to post. I thought it might be something to do with certain symbols/characters if I was quoting text from another source but even when I exclude them I'm still getting the message.

Ah crap, I have just unnecessarily bothered contacted MNHQ about this. And then felt v clever when I figured out it was the creepy wee brackets.

Where was this fred when I needed it in my distress?! < in tears >

No ideal but I thought of her too PacificDogwood but wasn't confident enough that these were the creepy wee brackets to post it.

Ok, creepy wee brackets may be one of the things causing it but I hadn't used them in my original posts when I first started getting the message. It did seem to be a length thing because if I split the message into smaller parts, it worked

There is a length limit bumbley but it is a rather generous one. Were you trying to write a novel in your post?

Not at all. That's why it was so strange. It wasn't a particularly long post - a couple of paragraphs but I got the Message Invalid message. When I posted the paragraphs separately it worked fine.

I originally thought it might have been because I was quoting from another document and there were some symbols included in the quote but even when I removed them I still got the message.

I got this earlier on a thread. It was a short message (couple of lines) but I was using the creepy wee brackets. I'm on the mobile site in IE.
