"Message invalid"

For the last couple of days I've been getting an occasional 'Message invalid' when I try to post. I thought it might be something to do with certain symbols/characters if I was quoting text from another source but even when I exclude them I'm still getting the message.

Ohh, Maryz's right - it is the creepy wee brackets - just happened to me with a very boring post about seeds. Put the gaps in and it wasn't a problem any more. Thank you, Maryz!

It's doing it for me at the moment. Don't know if I used the brackets though.

If you use them < like this > with a space between the bracket and the word it's fine. If you don't put the space in when you press Post it says 'Message Invalid'.

The creepy wee brackets just went wrong for me too. I thought MNHQ had banned me or something.

The curly ones just aren't the same.

I thought that the first time my post didn't post TD, I was trying to think what MN crime I had committed.

Here's a screenshot, with brackets in to show what was causing it. As soon as I added spaces it was ok.

Are you sure it wasn't invalid grammar? Did you all check your use of your vs you're? Apostrophes?

All we are doing is trying to do (snidey asides) but in < pointy brackets > without the spaces.

It worked until very recently. Presumably Tech changed something [stern face].

No snidey asides here. I was trying to type < burp > with reference to being in the pub all afternoon.
