So I have been watching a programme on box set and when it started on TV I stopped going on any websites that may give it away before I watch it. Only for me to see a spoiler in active thread as a title.

Have some consideration for other people please - there are plenty of threads on the programme that do not have spoilers in then title.

So cheers to whoever started the thread - I don't know who as am not opening it.

don't know how this can be stopped from happening again. Just wanted to vent really

Box sets are from years ago tho. How can you honestly avoid all talk in RL or any forums that relate to it? You can't control life like that

Grin so you get to censer every TV or film conversation in case you haven't watched it. Wtf!

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 27/10/2015 09:54

It's not a box set and nobody will know what you mean if you call it that.

She's talking about The Walking Dead, and season six, which premiered in the UK at 9pm last night.

The sooner MNHQ delete that thread the better, it's been requested by the OP and a fair few other people.

BabyGanoush · 27/10/2015 09:54

Which box set?

May still be worth watching

Shakey15000 · 27/10/2015 09:54

It's unfortunate, but that's life. Time to move on and shrug it off Smile

Scarletforya · 27/10/2015 09:55

Courtesy.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 27/10/2015 09:59

Carmen As you didn't open the thread, you won't have seen that the OP was sorry, and she did get ripped to shreds.

It's gone now, anyway.

MumOnTheRunAgain · 27/10/2015 10:00

There was no need to delete the whole bloody thread! Ridiculous, mnhq why didn't you just insert 'sloiler' into the title?

We can talk about what we like!

Or even 'spoiler'

PreciousxBane · 27/10/2015 10:04

Though the thread is deleted its still top topic in trending posts of the day, so that hasnt worked out yet.

Carmenandgetit · 27/10/2015 10:05

But it only aired yesterday - it's not like I am saying don't tell me the end of Dallas.

But less than 12 hours is a bit quick. I am not suggesting censoring anyone either people can say what they want about what they want just don't put it in the thread title...

Thanks for the spelling correction that has moved the discussion on immensely.

There will be another thread or two today I'm sure

I have been avoiding social media generally on the nights it is broadcast and the next day. Popped on here and it was blatantly as a thread title.

I know it can't be undone and we have all had films spoilt before we have seen them - shit happens

Just asking for a bit more awareness from people

OP posts:
Sothedrama · 27/10/2015 10:10

No opinion on the box set thing but what sort of dick corrects someone's spelling? I'm embarrassed for you scarlet

MumOnTheRunAgain · 27/10/2015 10:13

No.....awareness about disibility and what's happening in Europe, yes, that's a real thing to be aware about

Some random to programme? No, grow up.

brittanyfairies · 27/10/2015 10:16

Oh come on, it was a brilliant episode everyone waited until after it had aired to talk about it.

I bet if you logged onto the Daily Mail yesterday they probably had the whole episode in words and pictures before it had even aired yesterday.

You need to get over it, it's just the telly.

I felt sorry for the OP tbh.
daft mares want to get a grip, it's only a programme.
I did offer one before thread was deleted.
I'm sure the OP won't be the only one spilling her guts today.

MumOnTheRunAgain · 27/10/2015 10:21

I feel bad for her too. She was upset, that will stay with her all day. Over a few hysterical women and a tv programme

Ridiculous, grow the hell up!

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 27/10/2015 10:21

I think it's a bit harsh on the OP to say she should watch a programme when it airs or expect to have the ending spoiled. I mean, yes, I would imagine Twitter would be a dangerous place to go until you got round to seeing a programme, but I wouldn't expect such a blatant spoiler in a thread title on Mumsnet.

Also, delaying viewing for later is not exactly a new concept. People have been doing it since the first Betamax/VHS machines came out, so it's not hard to think maybe don't put spoilers in a headline (in the case of a newspaper/magazine) or thread title on a website like this.

And it's STILL in Discussions of the Day - why didn't MN just replace the word in question with [SPOILER]?.

CountBeculaMumsnet · 27/10/2015 10:21

Hi all - we removed the thread because there was little point in keeping it. In addition to the spoiler, the thread was mostly filled with attacks on the OP for posting it. Just a general train wreck to be honest.

We've now edited the title so it won't show the spoiler anymore.
