Site outage update

Hi everyone,

First and foremost: sorry for the loss of usual service over the last few hours.

To explain what's been going on: shortly after 10pm last night, we started receiving a large amount of spurious (i.e. automatic, rather than human) traffic. This is known in the trade as a denial of service attack: one in which a person, or organisation, deliberately floods a website with requests for pages, with the intention of overwhelming its servers and preventing bona fide users from accessing the site.

It goes without saying that we're doing everything we can to repel borders and keep the site up and running. We'll post on our social channels with any further updates (we're over here on Facebook and Twitter, if you don't follow us already), and in the meantime, thanks, as usual, for bearing with us.

There's a fan museum in Greenwich. The handheld variety, not fanatics.

What have I done to deserve this?
I pick up a sign and move among them,

and for the first time I feel a sense of belonging.

He remind's me of the l33t hackers spotty teens who knew a few lines of code who used to "hack" a chat room I used to visit way back when. I'm getting all nostalgic.

Anyhoo, she's off to bed now as she has an early start to get to Brum to see the Liver Team at the QE to start the assessment process again to see if they're willing to operate to remove the mets. (Bloody inconsiderate of her to be in another hospital in critical condition when the surgery was originally scheduled.)

Oh, another quick point just before she goes. Surely it should be "George - don't do that." and for MNHQ.
