New layout on mumsnet , Mmm not sure I like

Is anybody else finding the new layout slight off putting or am I stuck in my ways

Found the desktop site and am using that instead of the mobile site now. Threads I'm On works properly on the desktop site so I'm happy again.

The white background is making my eyes ache and how do I get rid of the advertising banner at the top?!

Is there no way we can have alternate messages on a thread in a slightly different shade of white?! Still giving me a headache :(

Also I might just be being inept a- is this new version slower than the last one? It takes longer to load on my phone and there's ever such a slight delay on my letters appearing when I'm typing which is a nightmare for typos! B- when I'm on threads I'm on, I used to click on the title of the thread to get me into it, then the page would whizz down to my bookmark.. It seems that the thread title isn't a clicky link anymore, and I have to click on one of the recent messages, and then it doesn't take me to my bookmark?

Please can it be less bright? It is hurting my eyes too, and am prone to migraine so won't be using it for long if it doesn't change! I tell you what as well, it annoys DP when I am MNing in bed like last night as it's much brighter than the old site.

I don't think the white will change this weekend as I think Tech have gone home. Accessibility is on the list for next week accordingly to the main thread. Does inverting the colours help for now or turning down the brightness?

Yes PinkAndBlue. That's incredibly irritating. If a thread has moved on you have to scroll (or page) slowly back to find the bookmarked post.

And bookmarking isn't working. I click on the dots and if I'm lucky then at a random point in the next minute the options come up, but I can't actually click on those.

The site is really slow now too.

But glad to see lots of other major bugs are slowly being fixed.

Glad to hear it is being looked at. Inverting the colours works, sort of, but can't see pictures properly(like looking at the negatives of photos)

In not going to lie, I've bailed ship to the desktop version for now.. Il pop back to mobile site every now and again and see if it's working at all better.. Does anyone know how I bookmark from my phone on desktop site? :/

Press the ellipses to find a bookmark option. In theory.

You need to have switched bookmarking on on the desktop site for it to work on the mobile site. Then it's under the ellipse.

The desktop and mobile sites are not working for me. Thank goodness it's not permanent - I normally like change and was worried I'd changed into an anti-tech person overnight!

Attempt 79 at posting. on a samsung galaxy s3. keep getting " page has become unresponsive" and it is very hard to post. I can't edit anything in this text box, ie I cant click in it and amend spelling or anything.
The whole mobile website sucks.
I have to use desktop website and it hurts my eyes.
I've been on here since 2004, I'm on nearly every day. I am seriously annoyed as there was nothing wrong with previous mobile website.
Can we have an option to return to "classic mobile" instead of this please.

Desktop is fab. Much prefer it and always use it
