Hello

We've got lots of new whizzy functions and apps and mobile sites and whatnot upcoming and we'd like to have a bunch of MNers we can call on to test things for us before we release them into the wild to cause havoc on the boards

Some things will be fairly discrete and quick to test and feed back on; others will be big things (like the apps and mobile sites) and will require you to use them for a few days and have a good poke around.

Of course by volunteering now you're not committing to anything - we'll always contact you first to ask if you're still up for it, and if you can't do it or don't see the mail in time that's absolutely fine.

So if in principle you'd like to be in our testers' group, please sign up here and let us know the following:

  1. how you mostly use MN (desktop site, mobile site, app)
  2. which device you usually use (phone, tablet, desktop, laptop etc)
  3. which operating system runs on the device you usually use (Windows, Apple OSs, Android, Linux etc)

Thanks v much
MNHQ x

i mostly use the app on my ipad mini even though i don't like it that much.

i also use an android phone to acess the site.

sometimes i use my desktop and access the site through a chrome browser.

yourlittlesecret · 03/06/2014 17:15

Yes I'll do it.
I use a laptop on windows /firefox.
I sometimes use iPad but browser rather than app.

CMP69 · 03/06/2014 17:20

I use the app (lots) on my S3 mini and the mobile site on a Nexus 10 (I think). Happy to help but not dead techyBlush

JugglingFromHereToThere · 03/06/2014 17:24

I use a desktop Apple Mac, with Firefox.

Does that sound right?!

Not sure how good I'll be at trying anything new, but I could give the mildly technophobic 70's girl view if it's needed Grin

I will volunteer. I use desktop site on my laptop using Chrome, and the mobile site on my android tablet or the ipod using Chrome and Safari respectively.

Its a 50/50 split which I'm on as it depends on where I am and who has which device but I'm far more likely to chat on the laptop as I can type easily. I always find it a bit harder work to reply to stuff on tablet/ipod. (mainly because the tablet is shite and the ipod is v.v. old and slow now)

JuniperTisane · 03/06/2014 17:38

Actually I suppose its a 50/35/15 split between laptop chrome/tablet chrome/ipod safari. really.

RustyBear · 03/06/2014 17:57

I will volunteer!

I use:
iPad Air, iOS7, desktop site, Safari -about 50% very occasional use of app
Windows 8 PC, Chrome or IE, desktop site, very rarely Windows8 'metro' app version of IE - about 30%
Windows 7 PC, IE, about 10%
MacBook Pro, Safari, desktop site, about 5%
iphone 5, iOS7, mobile site about 5%, very occasional use of app

Can also test at school, through filtered or unfiltered proxy server (SEGfL) on Win 7 IE11 or Chrome, XP IE 8, (though hopefully not for much longer!) iPad 2 ios 7, plus iPhone4, iOS6 app or mobile site and iMac Mavericks and Mountain Lion

MostWicked · 03/06/2014 18:04

tinkywinkyshandbag · 03/06/2014 18:08

Sorry, should I add I mostly use MN on laptop (when I can wrestle it off my minecrafting kids) as the app doesn't work on a windows phone and the text looks tiny when viewed as a website on my phone. Ta.
