A dedicated vaping topic?

Please, MNHQ, could we have one? I'm sure you are aware of how many more people vape nowadays & what a great way it is to give up smoking.

In six months we have had five threads about vaping see here & they are filling up faster & faster. More & more people aretaking up vaping as opposed to smoking & are wanting information.

Starting vaping can be a bit complicated & we could separate the information within a thread so that it was far more easily available for everyone to use.

Hope you'll agree & we can have our dedicated "Nest of Vapers"!

There are so many vaping forums on the net now it would be nice to have a Mumsnet one.

Yes, I find the dedicated vaping forums a bit intimidating (although a very valuable source of info and I'm extremely grateful they are there). I think a MN vaping topic would provide something different from what you can find elsewhere because it would have a different less willy waving tone. Might even attract new members to MN

Another vote here from a different point of view. I neither smoke nor vape, but I find it vaguely and irrationally irritating to see the thread constantly near the top in AIBU when it blatantly has nothing to do with AIBU.

That's a very good point, nenny, we are aware that we piss people off.

We have stuck to AIBU for traffic because it's brilliant whenever a smoker discovers vaping, it could literally save their life (if you want to dispute that please start a new thread). While a vaping topic would be great, we don't intend to be invisible in other topics.

There is a way to hide threads if tthey are bothering you. Someone who is not on a shitty toy tablet computer can probably tell you how.

I'm on an iphone and its quite easy, just scroll to the top and it says 'start new thread' 'flip' and 'hide'. Probably the same on tablet. I'm always clicking hide by accident.

Feeling forgotten about

Rowan if Mumsnet are nervous about being seen to be promoting vaping because its still unkown entity, can you do a separate quit smoking topic and have vaping under one heading followed by patches/ cold turkey/ medication methods?
