It is with great regret that we have to ask members to refrain from any further discussion of Gina Ford, her methods or her books on the site. To find out why click here. We'd be very grateful if members could report any mentions of Gina Ford using the "contact Mumsnet" facility (the little red exclamation mark to the right of each posting). Many thanks. MNHQ. "

Never seen it before.

I too, am at a loss at what to say, but am at the whole saga - especially for those at Mumsnet Towers. I think it's a very sad state of affairs and the loss of freedom of speech is desperate. Where will it end?

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 09:51

£40 to join 'her' site?! Jeeeezus!

It is slightly worrying isn't it? I mean, what if I slag 'the book' off in the playground - can I get 'done'?!

Chandra · 07/08/2006 09:54

no, only if you slagged it on line. Wonder why action has not been taken against Amazon. Guess because they have the money not to allow something like this to happen

[idea pop up in Chandra's head and disapear to look for Amazon site]

Pennies · 07/08/2006 10:00

I was a member of the site and just cancelled it as a direct result of this action.

LieselVonTrapp · 07/08/2006 10:03

She charges £40 to join???? Is it worth it? Sorry I wont mention this again but pleeeeaze!!!!!!!!!!!

hunkermunker · 07/08/2006 10:03

so can we post links to other places where similar opinions have been voiced? A quick google reveals many such incidences.

HuwEdwards · 07/08/2006 10:12

I am absolutely aghast - truly speechless (but I guess that's the grand plan)

gosh - a real bee in her bonnet. this is like a whining child saying ' muuuuum, she said i smell' only the mother is being paid to listen so instead of telling the child to be quiet and stop whining, she is running around the playground duffing up all the othr kids.

hope that analogy works!!!

hunkermunker · 07/08/2006 10:18

It's spreading...

Chandra · 07/08/2006 10:23

Fine work book reviews are, if Nobody has been shutting up all the negative comments there may be a huge dark side to what Nobody does.

colditz · 07/08/2006 10:25

Maybe we can still leave book reveiws on amazon or somewhere, or just flood the internet with the news of what is happening, so that people googling for certain things would come across certain facts.

Hunker, I cannot believe this, it looks like they intend to take on every parenting site out there!

I have said before I support MN and never more so than now, however, I think MNHQ are right the bigger issue needs looking into here. If this has spread to other parenting sites, who knows where or who will be next. The laws need to be addressed.

colditz · 07/08/2006 10:27

mph.
