"Add a Message

It is with great regret that we have to ask members to refrain from any further discussion of Gina Ford, her methods or her books on the site. To find out why click here. We'd be very grateful if members could report any mentions of Gina Ford using the "contact Mumsnet" facility (the little red exclamation mark to the right of each posting). Many thanks. MNHQ. "

Never seen it before.

mummydear · 07/08/2006 10:31

Maybe a good story for some female journalists out there rather than writing about SAHM v Working Mum !!

At least MN is not alone if it is spreading to other sites. More heads togther maybe ...

geekgrrl · 07/08/2006 10:31

well, I am just glad that some people choose to write parenting books instead of becoming politicians..... the mind boggles....

alexsmum · 07/08/2006 10:33

hunker you are quicker than me.was just about to come and post about babyworld.

i know we have to be quiet but we can't just sit here and take this or she has completely won. we have to DO something
wish we had a helpless emotion.

schneebly · 07/08/2006 10:35

at hunkers links! This is insane!

Uwila · 07/08/2006 10:38

I have actually always liked the books, but after reading this, well... I'd think twice about supporting her, whether through advertisement or purchase.

I think she should put free mumsnet ads in all her books to make up for the damage she has caused to the site.

Oh, I'm mad

I've tried not to say too much in this post, but if I have, MNHQ, feel free to delete the post.

Listen to LBC at 11am...

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 10:40

A wonder how many parents are getting utterly pissed off with this across the websites and talking about it to their friends? Do 'they' think that's a wise move?!

hunkermunker · 07/08/2006 10:40

You can listen online at www.lbc.co.uk - going out now.

zippitippitoes · 07/08/2006 10:42

thank you for giving us the background information. I had been wondering what if anything had happened of late, but hadn't wished to bring the topic up.

I hope matters reach a satisfactory conclusion for free speech.

HarpsichordCarrier · 07/08/2006 10:43

news or the other one?

colditz · 07/08/2006 10:43

what is lbc?

hunkermunker · 07/08/2006 10:43

97.3 link, James O'Brien

Uwila · 07/08/2006 10:43

Does she not see that she is shooting herself in the foot by upsetting her own potential market?

Uwila · 07/08/2006 10:46

I'm at work so can't listen. Please come back and tell me what was said on the programme.

Astrophe · 07/08/2006 10:47

littleducks · 07/08/2006 10:48

I would rather much rather pay a yearly membership fee to Mumsnet, in return for the right to free speech on this site. (If that is possible)

I don't post often but I have found this site so valuable simply because I can read differing opinions on certain parenting issues/products and then I can make my mind up which side I will take.

I find it interesting that none of the baby equipment manufactures take offence at the differing opinions of their goods, when posted on this site. I guess it is because they are very confidant in their products and hence have nothing to fear from honest opinions from members of the public.
