"Add a Message

It is with great regret that we have to ask members to refrain from any further discussion of Gina Ford, her methods or her books on the site. To find out why click here. We'd be very grateful if members could report any mentions of Gina Ford using the "contact Mumsnet" facility (the little red exclamation mark to the right of each posting). Many thanks. MNHQ. "

Never seen it before.

cd I was going to do that but I have no intention of mentioning any individuals as this petition needs to cover for any future action against anyone else as well. We don't want to be in this position again when the makers of fruit shoots/MCDs/coka cola decide we're saying nasty things about them.

BabiesEverywhere · 07/08/2006 11:57

Re..petition, Just don't put her name on it, or you'll get sued. ;) Instead stress that parenting forums like mumsnet/BMC would like the freedom for their members to post their own opinions be it a positive or negative one.

On a completely unrelated matter, if people would like to send positive comments regarding how great you think a particular book might be, there are plenty of email address you can use... like this one

[email protected]

Just in case anyone has spare time on their hands ;)

wannaBe1974 · 07/08/2006 12:09

excellent, is anyone members of any other sites? could you put the word about? also would it be worth posting a link to it on x's book review pages on amazon?

Quootiepie · 07/08/2006 12:09

all signed... I hope MN doesnt get in trouble for this...

SecurMummy · 07/08/2006 12:09

Sorry to be picky after your efforts! I thought that the point was that the third party (organiser/host etc) should not be accountable for an individuals expressed view? I think that the wording you have used sounds a bit like (to me anyway) we are asking for anyine to be able to say anything without ever getting in trouble for it! I am not sure that is a great long term idea - after all, we may not abuse it, but I am sure someone on the internet somewhere would!

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 12:10

aitch - the amazon review appearing today was only written this morning. Don't know how I know that, though.

wannaBe1974 · 07/08/2006 12:13

true SecurMummy but by the same token the individuals shouldn't be acountable either. if you went into a chat room and had a discussion about an unnamed "expert" its lawyers could come after you as an individual too.

flutterbee · 07/08/2006 12:13

I have just trie to sign it and leave a comment but it is asking for a donation in $ and wont let me go any further.

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 12:14

PC, Jan is right - you are not able to give 0 stars on Amazon reviews

wannaBe1974 · 07/08/2006 12:15

noooo we don't want to give money! lol

WideWebWitch · 07/08/2006 12:17

flutterbee · 07/08/2006 12:17

Hang on sorry I just read the top of the page it said that my signature had been registered and would I like to donate. So no donation is needed.

I may have signed twice though ooopppsss sorry!!

colditz · 07/08/2006 12:20

thing were said and we didn't say them!

Gobbledigook · 07/08/2006 12:21
